Double Win for Sherrone Moore as Michigan Receives Surprising 230-lbs News After Brady Smigiel Announcement

Michigan and Sherrone Moore are on the cusp of facing a blockbuster fate in the recent recruitment streak. The 2nd year head coach has been all out in his recruitment efforts to improve the roster. Starting from the Bryce Underwood trademark portal win to the 2026 class stack up, Moore is moving in the right direction. After securing the QB room, he shifted his focus to the defense. Moore extended an offer to the standout St. Johns High School DL, Tariq Bunny, a month back. The kid took a visit to Ann Arbor on April 5th. Now, it seems they are taking a step forward on their path.

On3 National Analyst Steve Wiltfong pulled a prediction for Michigan to land three-star Washington (DC) St. John’s EDGE Tariq Boney. They enhanced their chance all of a sudden as Moore grabbed a Top 100 quarterback, Brady Smigiel, on Saturday. Michigan only received four verbal pledges right after the spring. Boney doesn’t make an elite game-changer, but his addition to the defense will keep their 2026 recruitment streak flowing.

3 EDGE Tariq Boney tells me that his recent visit to Michigan was a “great experience” and will return for an O.V. in June

“Coach Espo gave me a lot of coaching points,” Boney said after his last month’s visit to the school. “We had a great conversation. He really told me what Michigan is all about and how he develops guys into not just players, but young men as well. That stood out… They have a rich history, a winning culture, and a great facility. They develop players and get guys degrees. It’s a great academic school.” He will have another official visit to Michigan before making a final call.
