Dodgers Star Hilariously Reacts to Leading MLB Home Runs With Near 1ft Taller Aaron Judge

4 min read

We’re still early into this season but the home run race is already off to a strong start. When it comes to big hitters in the league, some names instantly cross our minds, the ones who are renowned for consistently launching home runs into the upper stands. The buzz isn’t around who is leading; it’s about how he got there in the first place. Among the projected stars who are already known for soaring hits is that one Dodgers’ star that’s making headlines.

Tommy Edman, the 29-year-old Los Angeles Dodgers’ second baseman, now stands among baseball’s most lethal players, leading in six home runs at the early start of the 2025 season. Among those, we have the New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge and the Los Angeles Angels’ star Mike Trout.

Tommy Edman on being tied with Aaron Judge, Kyle Schwarber, and Mike Trout for the MLB lead in home runs (6):

“Yeah, it’s kind of a lot of guys that look the same and then there’s me. It’s kind of funny, but it’s kind of a hot start, and we’ll see how long I can keep it up.” pic.twitter.com/b113xO09NW

As soon as Edman learned about his tie with Aaron Judge, Kyle Schwarber, and Mike Trout, he was reportedly questioned about how it felt to join the company of the game’s most powerful hitters. His hilarious reaction to that question will probably amaze you.

He replied, “Yeah, it’s kind of a lot of guys that look the same, and then there’s me. It’s kind of funny, but it’s kind of a hot start, and we’ll see how long I can keep it up.” Didn’t he precisely describe the contrast here? While Edman stands at 5’10 and Judge at 6’7. Given that we’re still in April, it will be too early to predict if Edman will be able to keep it up or not.

In 2024, the Los Angeles Dodgers acquired Tommy Edman from the St. Louis Cardinals. At that time, they couldn’t have guessed that it would be one of the best trades for them.

Edman showed the best of his prowess in the Dodgers’ win against the Cubs

Throughout Tommy Edman‘s journey, he couldn’t hit more than 13 home runs in the past six seasons. Fast forward to the present day, it’s been around 15 games, and guess what? He is already halfway there.

During the sixth inning against the Cubs, all it took for Edman was one impactful swing on a knee-high changeup in order to draw an end to the pitcher’s duel between the Dodgers’ Yoshinobu Yamamoto and the Cubs’ Matthew Boyd. And just like that, the Dodgers were already in a three-run lead. The main highlight of the win? Definitely the part when Edman was found in a five-way tie for the lead in home runs with A-listers.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts made sure to praise Edman, saying, “He’s got a really good routine to keep his body strong. He does a good job of controlling the strike zone and finding pitches he can drive. And he’s taking good swings.” And he’s not saying it just for the sake of it; he was, indeed, impressed with Edman’s performance.

When the Dodgers were eyeing Edman, they didn’t primarily see him for the prowess he carries. The foremost reason behind having him on their radar was simply all about the versatility and positional adaptability he held. Not to forget his glove caliber defense across the diamond.

And well, be it last season with the Cardinals or this season with the Dodgers, Edman never fails to show signs of a player who believes in making an impact, not just filling the gaps.
