Almost a year ago, it looked like the world was against Ryan Garcia. NYSAC served the Victorville native with a year-long ban; Devin Haney sued him over PEDs; and, to make matters worse, his former friend/acquaintance Logan Paul turned against him. It might sound weird, but Garcia and Paul shared a friendly relationship before everything turned sour. KingRy even trained the YouTuber for his exhibition fight against Floyd Mayweather back in 2021.
However, the relationship deteriorated over time, and things turned so bad that the duo got involved in a lawsuit. As things have calmed down a bit in the Victorville native’s life, he finally opened up about his currently ongoing beef with Logan Paul and what kicked it off.
Ryan Garcia has no issues with Jake
With his return fight just a few months away, the 26-year-old appeared in an episode of Ring Champs with AK and Barak. During the hour-long podcast, Garcia revealed that even though he wants to fight Jake Paul someday, he has no personal grudge against him and it is purely a business move. “I don’t really have an issue with Jake. I had an issue with Logan,” KingRy stated almost 18 minutes into the conversation.
As curiosity took over, Akin Reyes asked Garcia, “What was your issue with Logan?” It turns out, the tension started a few years ago when Logan Paul questioned Garcia’s ethics. “I didn’t like that he at the time he was calling me something like he was saying I’m crazy I’m this I’m that when I was talking about you know child s** trafficking and trying to raise awareness on it. And I kind of you know wild out on them and that’s where our beef started,” he revealed.
Ryan Garcia is referencing the time when Logan Paul called him out over his child trafficking rant, during the lead-up to his fight against Devin Haney. These unfounded claims did not sit right with Logan Paul who urged Garcia to seek help over his mental health issues. As it turns out, Ryan Garcia was offended by Logan Paul’s response at the time. “I said “F**k you, I don’t like drinking your drink(Prime),” Garcia told AK. But the 26-year-old had gone beyond just saying ‘he didn’t like the drink.’
The Logan Paul Prime lawsuit
The whole conflict began when Ryan Garcia publicly criticized Prime Hydration, an energy drink co-founded by Logan Paul, who, after it was revealed that Ryan Garcia had tested positive for the PED ostarine, slammed the boxer for the positive tests. The Victorville native immediately bashed Logan Paul and his Prime Hydration saying that the drink was “nasty” and claimed that consuming it was akin to “working for Satan”. Not only that, Ryan Garcia pinned the blame for his positive test of Ostarine on Prime.
As expected, Logan Paul and his team retaliated quickly. Prime Hydration filed a defamation and libel suit against the boxer in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, accusing Garcia of spearheading a smear campaign loaded with lies about their product.
Following that, Logan Paul unloaded a fiery tirade about Garcia torching his own career. Even though the 26-year-old has publicly apologized to The Maverick, their relationship still remains un-mended. Can they patch things up? Only time will tell. But what about you? Who’s the real culprit here, and do you see Ryan Garcia and Logan Paul burying the hatchet? Drop your thoughts below.
