One of the biggest lessons from the NBA last week is no one is safe. Luka Doncic, a generational talent, was traded out without any heads-up. The same went for Anthony Davis. Similarly, there’s another ironic occurrence in the league. The 8th-year guard De’Aaron Fox, who forced the trade out of Sac-Town, has found himself in a conflicting spot with the Spurs rookie, Stephon Castle. Nevertheless, it came down to a quick resolution as Fox caved in after following his wife Recee’s direction.
Before I drag too much, let’s look at the conflicting situation. We all know that Fox donned the iconic #5 on his jersey for the Kings. It would certainly look odd to witness him with any other number. Unfortunately, we will have to watch him wear a different number now. Fox’s #5 collided with rookie Stephon Castle, leaving the guard has no option other than going with an alternate number.
It’s ironic and strange that an All-Star had to change his jersey number for a rookie. Either way, De’Aaron Fox has found a special number that will pay tribute to his wife.
Breaking News from the Uniform Czar. De’Aaron Fox has changed his mind. He will wear #4 in honor of his wife Recee’. San Antonio’s own was a McDonald’s All American at Johnson High School and wore #4 at Texas Tech. pic.twitter.com/0rUxsXmgee
