After delivering a stunning TKO victory over Tariel Abbasov at Cage Warriors 185 on Saturday night, Luke Riley made his intentions crystal clear. The undefeated featherweight wasted no time in calling out UFC president Dana White, urging him to “stop taking the p***” and offer him a contract. Riding the momentum of yet another dominant performance, Riley believes he’s more than ready for the big stage—and he’s making sure the world knows it.
In a burst of adrenaline, he scaled the cage, snatched a microphone from the commentators at ringside, and delivered a passionate plea to Dana White—urging the UFC boss to give him the shot he’s been chasing. The 25-year-old said, “I said I need a helping hand, I’m in a small ditch with the visa issues. I’m no B-tier fighter, I’m a Premier League fighter. If I’m not in the UFC, what am I doing fighting? I just said don’t leave me out to dry, just sign me. Stop taking the p***, Dana. Sign me.”
This is not the first time that any fighter has tried to pitch in front of the UFC CEO. However, this time, Paddy Pimblett came forward and showed his support for his training partner.
‘The Baddy’ recently appeared for a Q&A session alongside Michael ‘Venom’ Page and Michael Bisping. The video was shared by The Mac Life on their YouTube channel where the 30-year-old had nothing but praise for Riley. On being asked whether Riley deserved a place in the UFC, Pimblett had no hesitation in saying, “I don’t need to say anything. Like Dana knows who Luke is. And Dana’s going to sign him. It’s as simple as that.”
In the past Dana White has made some unbelievable signings which has helped the UFC become even more entertaining. Also, looking at the current record of the 25-year-old it seems he does deserve a chance in the UFC next.
December 10, 2022, Las Vegas, Nevada, Las Vegas, NV, United States: LAS VEGAS, NV – DECEMBER 10: Paddy Pimblett prepares to fight Jared Gordon in their Lightweight fight during the UFC 282 event at T-Mobile Arena on December 10, 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. However, at the moment the focus is more on Paddy Pimblett rather than his training partner. ‘The Baddy’ is set to take on Michael Chandler in a highly exciting clash at UFC 314. Pimblett since making his debut in the UFC has proved that he belongs in the highly exciting lightweight division. But this will be the first time he will take on a fighter who has shared the Octagon with some legends. So is the 30-year-old really worried? It seems he is not.
Paddy Pimblett issues a warning to Michael Chandler before UFC 314
Since the fight was announced experts and fans have already started making predictions for the highly anticipated clash. Jared Gordon, who once shared the cage with Paddy Pimblett, isn’t sold on the idea that the outspoken Liverpudlian can handle Michael Chandler’s firepower and experience. Having gone the distance with Pimblett at UFC 282 in 2022, Gordon knows exactly what ‘The Baddy’ brings to the Octagon.
But his insight doesn’t stop there—he also trains alongside Michael Chandler, giving him a unique perspective on the former Bellator champion’s skill set. With firsthand knowledge of both fighters, Gordon remains skeptical that Pimblett has what it takes to overcome the challenge.
During a recent interview shared by Home Of Fight on X, Gordon made his point clear and said, “And you know you are probably gonna get punched in the face by Mike when you fight him. So like, there’s a pretty good chance that he would hurt you or finish you.” But there’s no way you can get around with ‘The Baddy’ by making predictions.
He was quick to share his opinion on the fight which was shared by Home Of Fight on X and where he said, “I’m going to show everyone that the old guard’s on the way out and the new guard’s coming in. It’s funny everyone’s saying he’s going to knock me out. I don’t think he’s going to get near me on the feet.”
