Are we on the brink of Shara Magomedov‘s roaring comeback? Back at UFC Saudi Arabia, the one-eyed pirate collided with Michael ‘Venom’ Page in a high-voltage showdown, where Page’s relentless karate dismantled Magomedov’s Muay Thai mastery. The result stunned the MMA world—few expected Magomedov to fall so decisively. Now, months after that fateful clash, ‘Bullet’ has broken his silence, hinting that his return is near—and a comeback date might already be in the works.
MMA Orbit on X uploaded a screenshot of Shara Magomedov’s story, where he tagged his manager, Ali Abdelaziz, with the caption ‘See you soon’ followed by a pirate emoji. This just indicated only one thing, and that is his comeback, but when? It is highly possible that the 15-1 fighter will be coming back to the Octagon once again at UFC Abu Dhabi Fight Night, which is scheduled to take place on July 26th.
We can say this with a degree of confidence because Magomedov is unable to fight in the United States due to restrictions related to his eye. Similar to Michael Bisping, he is unable to see from one eye, and this disability prevents him from getting clearance to compete under any athletic commission in the United States. Despite that, Magomedov will surely return, this time coming out all guns blazing with the intent to get back in the win column.
We’re not certain who the one-eyed Dagestani fighter with a lion’s mane will fight next. Magomedov failed to get past an ageing Michael Page, who isn’t even in the UFC’s top 15. Whoever it is, it has to be a significant name in the division if the fight has to happen in Abu Dhabi. Either that, or they may just put him on the undercard. It only seems fair considering Shara ‘Bullet’ isn’t even in the top 15 of the middleweight division.

There was a time when ‘Bullet’ could only dream of fighting under the UFC banner. However, now that he has secured multiple wins within the promotion, his only goal is the belt. After defeating Armen Pewetrosyan with a double spinning-backfist knockout last year, the anticipation surrounding his potential championship reign grew. But then Page stopped him, or did he?
Shara Magomedov reveals that worsening health was the reason for his defeat
After Shara Magomedov was defeated by Michael ‘Venom’ Page by way of unanimous decision back in February, it was a shocker for the entire MMA community, as they were not expecting ‘Bullet’ to be completely outclassed by Page. After the defeat, Magomedov sat down with Ushatayka to reveal the reason behind his subpar performance. Magomedov claimed that he was not at 100% in that fight due to sickness.
“I wasn’t my true self in the Octagon. Unfortunately, there was just 30 percent of me in there,” Magomedov said. “It was the worst camp in my entire professional MMA career. I’ve never felt that sick in the cage. My legs were gone, my arms felt weak, and I’ve got a lot of health issues I don’t want to reveal. It was a whole bunch of problems that affected my performance.”
He added, “My mind was there, but my body was off. I’ve got dysbacteriosis and parasitosis in my intestine, and I’ve got problems with my bile flow. I hoped to fix this issue, at least before the fight, but it’s still there. That’s why I could not keep the proper pace. I was feeling sick after throwing just a few punches, so I needed a break.”
Will Shara Magomedov be able to turn his misfortune around and return to a winning record, or will it be another defeat for the Dagestani pirate? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
