One star? Seriously? There was a time when Colorado’s bold athletic director never held back and claimed Travis Hunter was soaking up the spotlight. But what about Shedeur Sanders? The AD claimed Shedeur’s buzz isn’t nearly as loud. But now, the tide is turning. The director’s focus is clear. Hunter isn’t just shining—he’s redefining greatness. At CU, the bar isn’t just high. It’s sky-high!

Travis Hunter of Colorado continues to win trophies one month after football and awards season ended. As of January 29th, Hunter is CU’s first player to be selected both a First-Team Academic All-American and a Unanimous First-Team All-American. As the Heisman winner accomplishes yet another unprecedented milestone, Rick George, the CU Buffs AD, recently sung Travis Hunter’s “Praises” in an Instagram post. “Congratulations @TravisHunterJr, You have set a high standard for future Buffs!,” wrote the AD on X.

Hunter is only the third Heisman winner to receive Academic All-American of the Year, behind Florida’s Danny Wuerffel and Tim Tebow. This is awarded to the college football player who performed the best academically. He is also the only Buffalo player to ever be selected a unanimous All-American and only-Team Academic All-American.
