Cowboys Legend’s Strong Micah Parsons Message for Jerry Jones Amid Reports Linking Legendary LB to Dallas

4 min read

It’s the signature style of the Cowboys owner and GM, Jerry Jones. Stretch one extension so long that it keeps making all the headlines till the season begins. For those of you who don’t remember, it was WR CeeDee Lamb last year. Remember when he decided to stay away from the mandatory minicamp and training sessions? This year, it’s Micah Parsons! The linebacker has been making all the news while the Cowboys GM keeps his options open.

The funny part is that Jones never says that they have any problem. It’s always at ease. But the speed? It’s like a snail after the rains, crawling along in slow-motion. Annoyed by seeing this slimy trail year after year, Cowboys legend Michael Irvin made his feelings known on Wednesday, March 19th.

During his appearance on the SPEAK show, he gave a tough message to Jerry Jones and said, “The only problem they have is finding his money. Let’s get his money. And making sure you remove the people that are not on the same page. That’s the reality of that. There is no Micah Parsons problem outside of getting him signed now.

Parsons, meanwhile, is dropping subtle hints on social media that he deserves the best contract. On March 19, he shared a tweet by The 33rd Team, sharing the list of the most-consistent pass rushers since 2022. Out of all the LBs with a minimum 2k+ snaps, he came out on top with a 19.6% pressure rate.

Irvin also praised the LB for his performance and added, “I don’t want to hear there’s a Micah Parsons problem. The way he’s played, he’s earned what he’s going to get, and they’ll work that out. I just don’t want it to take forever.” That’s exactly the game of Jerry Jones.

He stretched the negotiations for so long that even his own fanbase is left pulling their hair out. Amid all of this, the Cowboys are also focused on making some concrete additions to their roster.

Jerry Jones might add Von Miller

Micah Parsons is already a lethal talent. In 4 seasons, he has played 63 games (all started), and recorded 9 defended passes, 9 forced fumbles, 52.5 sacks, and 256 tackles (172 solo). That’s impressive, right? Now, imagine adding another player with a similar performance. 2-time Super Bowl winner, Von Miller!

The DeSoto, Texas native is ready to sign with the team as it gives him a chance to return to his hometown. It’s hometown glory! In 14 years in the league, he has played all but the 2020 season because of the freak injury near the ankle. The Super Bowl MVP has also got Pro Bowl finishes in 8 of those 13 seasons. But the Bills didn’t see any future place for the 35-year-old linebacker, forcing him to become a free agent. It opens the doors for the America’s Team. But Jerry Jones is concerned about other factors.

In 2024, he played 13 games, with 6 sacks and 17 tackles (13 solo). But the Bills didn’t start him in any game. So, while he brings in a lethal power that could seriously hurt the rivals, can his health be relied upon? Regardless, he has amazed fans for long in the football world. And they are excited to see him in Cowboys colors. It would be a major boost to their defensive prowess. However, will the GM sign the deal?

The Cowboys really need that to end the 3-decade Championship drought. And they need to do it now. Going at a snail’s pace, they are even at risk of losing the tag of “America’s Team” (to the Chiefs)!
