After failing to capitalize on Stephen Curry’s early exit in Game 1, the Minnesota Timberwolves didn’t let those errors repeat. The Target Center anticipated a strong performance. And their team delivered. They didn’t let the Warriors lead at any point in the game and cruised to a series-levelling 24-point victory in Game 2. Likewise, the Wolves fanbase was jubilant. However, nobody could have foreseen NFL legend Michael Irvin’s happiness who shared an embrace with Anthony Edwards.
Irvin spent his entire NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys, the same city that kept Ant-Man from making the NBA Finals last season. However, the legendary wide receiver was at the Target Center tonight to witness the stellar postseason action between the two Western Conference giants. And least to say, he was satisfied.
The player who won his heart seemed to be Anthony Edwards. The Timberwolves ace nearly caused peril early in the game. After Trayce Jackson-Davis accidentally stepped on his ankle, the 23-year-old briefly went to the locker room. It seemed to be the end of his night. But Edwards bounced back. The chance to win and gain some momentum before hitting the road was invaluable.
And Irvin was touched by his display. After the game, the duo could be seen sharing a light-hearted conversation before they posed for a photograph. Just as they were about to part ways, the Cowboys legend showed his appreciation of Edwards. He gave him a kiss on the cheeks for his display of bravery and vital contributions in Game 2.
