There’s been a fierce debate raging on social media about 100 men against 1 gorilla, which has made its way into combat sports. While the question itself is quite rudimentary, people seem to come up with some interesting answers to the debate. In a more recent development, former UFC champions Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov have been asked to join forces to get the job done.
You see, the classic ‘100 men vs. 1 gorilla’ debate just got an upgrade—now the question is: which 10 fighters would you pick to take on a gorilla? England’s own Chris Eubank Jr. was posed the same challenge. In response, he named ten fighters from across the combat sports world whom he believes could get the job done, including the two UFC legends.
If you didn’t know—by some miracle—McGregor and Khabib absolutely hate each other’s guts, a rivalry that reached its boiling point at UFC 229 in October 2018. McGregor, in true trash-talking form, used every tactic imaginable to get under Khabib Nurmagomedov’s skin—even targeting his religion and beliefs. It was classic McGregor, but this time, it went too far. It was personal.
When fight night came, Khabib silenced the noise by submitting McGregor in a dominant, one-sided performance. The chaos didn’t end there. Their feud was so intense that it became the subject of ‘The Grudge’—a documentary series that chronicled how their relationship spiraled from mutual respect to full-blown hostility, and included details about the brawl that ensued after their fight.
But back to Chris Eubank Jr.—he said McGregor can get into the gorilla’s head with this trash talk, while Khabib can provide an advantage because of his unmatched grappling skills. But this begs the question: who else made it onto his list to take down one gorilla? In a video shared on X, Eubank Jr. named his dream team of 10 fighters from across combat sports.

His picks included a prime Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali for his ring IQ, and Chris Eubank Sr. to confuse the gorilla with his unpredictable antics. In addition, Brock Lesnar for raw size and strength, a prime George Foreman for devastating knockout power, Lennox Lewis for his reach, Tyson Fury for his height and intimidation, and himself. Despite the big names on the list, Eubank Jr. thought there was only one man on the list who would contribute the most.
Who will contribute the most? Conor McGregor, Khabib Nurmagomedov, or someone else?
After listing all the names, Eubank Jr. highlighted his role in the team, claiming, “I will be great at all of the game plans that will be used to get this gorilla out of there.” Eubank Jr. believed he would overshadow everyone else in employing all the tactics to win the fight, “I could distract, I could grapple, I can attack, I can confuse. And if it comes down to it, as you guys saw last weekend, I will not give up.”

Eubank Jr. is coming off a unanimous decision win over Conor Benn on March 26th in Tottenham, which Eubank believed showcased “It doesn’t matter how hurt, how tired, how shot, I will keep fighting till the end.” When asked about the result of the 10 vs. 1 gorilla, he calmly suggested, “The ten of us together we would eviscerate that gorilla.”
That said, Chris Eubank Jr. seems to think Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov are an important addition to beating one gorilla. However, do you think these two rivals would ever join forces to do anything together?
