Conor McGregor Parties Hard With “2nd Biggest Philadelphia Eagles Fan” With a 2 Word Message

4 min read

The Philadelphia Eagles just became the Super Bowl champions for the second time by defeating the Kansas City Chiefs with a score of 40-22. Needless to say, the celebrations boomed through the world as the Eagles fans cheered out loud. But did you know that Conor McGregor also celebrated the Eagles’ Super Bowl 59 win?

Well, it seemed like ‘The Notorious’ was one of the biggest fans of the NFL team. He took to Instagram and shared a picture of himself clanking a pint of Forged Irish Stout with the former K1 Muay Thai fighter, Malik Joe, on his IG Story. What’s so cool about celebrating the Eagles’ victory with a former Muay Thai fighter? As per Joe’s Instagram bio, he is the “2nd biggest Eagles fan Of All Time.” Capturing the moment in his IG Story, McGregor wrote, “GO BIRDS .”

Of course, this wasn’t the first time the former UFC double champion wished the Philadelphia Eagles for their supernatural victory. Through the IG account of Forged Irish Stout, ‘Mystic Mac’ shared a handful of images of him celebrating with Joe and others. In the caption, he congratulated Dom SiAndro, the Chief Security Officer and senior executive for the Eagles. He wrote, “Congratulations to Big Dom and the rest of the Philadelphia Eagles on winning Super Bowl 59 from Forged Irish Stout and the Forged Philly Team – Go Birds.”

The Super Bowl clash on Sunday was actually a rematch between the two teams. With the win, the Eagles did not just spoil whatever afterparty the Chiefs may have planned but also killed their historic ‘three-peat’ dream. This was also their second meeting in two years in a Super Bowl game. The last time, the Eagles lost 38-35. So this time, they settled the debt with interest and then some more. Leading by a margin that’s almost twice the opponent’s score? Dominance at its best.

While Conor McGregor turned out to be a massive supporter of the Super Bowl 59 winning team, he was also a pretty good fight promoter. After all, he was one of the reasons why the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship boomed after he became a part owner of the fight promotion. And during the promotion of BKFC Knucklemania V, ‘The Notorious’ hyped up the Philadelphia Eagles to do what they just achieved.

Conor McGregor soars with Philadelphia Eagles weeks before Super Bowl 59 finale

The fight card at BKFC Knucklemania V was already stacked up high with matchups like Philly’s own Eddie Alvarez vs. Jeremy Stephens hyping up the fighting community. But the Irish mixed martial artist decided that it wasn’t enough. With the microphone in his hands at the Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, during the pre-fight press conference, McGregor summoned the Gods of fighting. But he had to address the fans from Philadelphia. And it wasn’t just the fight fans, but also American Football enthusiasts that the former UFC champ-champ targeted.

Coming to the end of his speech, ‘The Notorious’ gave a shoutout to the NFL home team. He said, “I gave a big shout-out to the Eagles – a big game this weekend. So, go Birds! This is a Philly type of weekend, baby! And we’re kicking it off, Bare Knuckle style!” And the support for the local team continued even after the press conference.

In a conversation with NBC Sports’ John Clark after the presso, McGregor said, “Go Birds! Philadelphia, passionate people. Fly Eagles Fly!” And this seemingly succeeded in garnering the attention of not just the fight fans, but Super Bowl fans as well. McGregor might be one of the biggest Eagles fans. But his skills as a fight promoter were far superior, don’t you agree?
