Ireland’s most influential personality, Conor McGregor, has displayed his ambition to expand his already vast empire to new levels each year. Last year came probably the biggest step forward for ‘Mystic Mac’ when he announced that he was creating his record label, Greenback Records. In his latest venture, McGregor has stepped into the music industry to bring out new talents from across the world, starting with Britain.
The whole purpose behind the creation of this record label was to offer artists a much fairer deal than those done by most labels, a relationship that has often been perceived as contentious. The label is open to signing multi-platinum artists, of course, but they’re also eyeing rising, up-and-coming stars as well. In an attempt to do the latter, Greenback Records signed the viral British sensation, a quartet band with members, Venice, Honey, Jasmine, and Maya, known as Sweet Love.
Even before he had signed the band, McGregor was a keen supporter of the band, which was something their manager, Blair Dreelan, really appreciated. This appreciation and acknowledgement led him to go forward with their deal. ‘The Notorious’ has even set high expectations for Sweet Love, as he claimed that they were “the biggest girl band since the Spice Girls.”
In the latest, Conor’s admiration for the band has not changed, as he commented, “” on their latest post with artist Mimi Webb. Joining the former 2-weight UFC champion in the comments was Adult actress Kendra Lust, who also reacted to their post with the comment: “”.
Referring to them as the ‘Spice Girls of 2025’, being a supportive promoter for the band, Conor McGregor surely has a special place for Greenback Record’s latest signing—Sweet Love in his heart. Currently, they are one of the most trending bands in Britain. With a great launch done for their new venture to conquer the British music scene, Sweet Love and Greenback Records will look to keep this momentum going.
Yet, Sweet Love isn’t the first signing done by Greenback Records. Knowing the competitive market of the music industry, and how new McGregor’s label is in the scene,’The Notorious; knew he had to bring a long a few veterans from the scene back to the game if he really wants Greenback Records to leave a mark.
The origin of Conor McGregor’s record label
In 2024, the Irish-based record label was co-founded by the UFC legend Conor McGregor alongside two music industry veterans in Richard Buck and Julian O’Brien. Alongside these two artists, the whole purpose of McGregor and Greenback Records is to offer partnership deals to artists, according to ‘The Notorious’, “in a way that hasn’t been done before”, with the aim of giving them fair deals and proper rewards.
Richard Buck serves as the CEO of the label, carrying the experience of hosting major names like 50 Cent, SIA, and Snoop Dogg‘s concerts, whereas Julien O’Brien serves as the Creative Head of the label. The list of music veterans doesn’t just stop here. Iconic American-based rapper Xzibit came back to the hip-hop scene as he signed with Greenback Records to launch his album, ‘Kingmaker’.
With a team like that, McGregor can surely find the right mix to elevate his label. And to ensure this, he even brought Damion ‘Damizza’ Young on his team as the USA strategy and lead media consultant, known for his major contribution in pushing forward the careers of Eminem and 50 Cent.
All of this effort tells you about the passion McGregor with which is carrying this label forward. It shows that he isn’t just playing around with his money, he’s making investments that are meaningful and strong for the future. With all that being said, the question remains, will Conor McGregor’s record label be able to break through in the current music era? What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
