“Conor McGregor, your best friend, doesn’t give a s— about you!” said the YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI attacking the friendship between Dillon Danis and Conor McGregor. And it was all because the former UFC double champion was seen enjoying his time alongside Jake Paul and Logan Paul during Donald Trump’s swearing-in ceremony. KSI also questioned ‘El Jefe’ regarding McGregor supporting him in the public eye. Needless to say, Danis was deeply hurt.
During his appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show on 11 March 2025, Danis revealed his true feelings about McGregor’s stance. It certainly seemed like the former Bellator star felt a little betrayed by his close friend. He said, “I can’t lie, Logan’s trying to ruin my life and trying to take money from my kid’s mouth and my whole family’s mouth every single day.” The older Paul brother and Nina Agdal sued Danis for millions. And that was indeed troublesome for the fighter. On the other hand, McGregor was also trapped in a civil case against Nikita Hand. And what saddened Danis was the fact that despite knowing exactly how it felt to be sued, ‘The Notorious’ didn’t come up to help him.
‘El Jefe’ continued, “At the time, yeah, remember I was upset. I’m not going to throw two bones, but I mean, yeah, I was upset.” But not anymore. ‘Mystic Mac’ has now come forth with an Instagram Story to stand in support of his long-time training partner and close friend. McGregor shared a post by DAZN Boxing on his IG Story and captioned the image, “Brothers for life!” The picture showed McGregor standing beside Danis and Cristiano Ronaldo. Better late than never, right?
It wasn’t like Conor McGregor never stood up for Danis in public. Following the bout between Danis and the WWE star, ‘The Notorious’ revealed that he was actually impressed by his teammate’s performance. Of course, it didn’t seem to matter to him that ‘El Jefe’ lost because of disqualification. Let’s see what the Irish fighter had to say.

In a now-deleted tweet, the Irishman wrote, “I was impressed by Dillon Danis.” The tweet was followed by a voice not by the former UFC double champion. He said, “Are you not entertained! I was impressed, good shots. [Danis] needs to believe in his shots more and more and let them go, some of them were alright. Some of the he was throwing were alright, he just needed to let them go a bit more.”
McGregor went on to trash the WWE star. He pointed out that Paul’s strikes couldn’t even wobble ‘El Jefe’. The Irishman also turned his fury towards KSI and Tommy Fury. The duo clashed on the same card as Danis vs. Paul.
During the interview with the famed MMA reporter on his podcast, ‘El Jefe’ confirmed that he had resolved things with McGregor immediately after the troubles. He revealed that they talked it out like real friends do. It wasn’t some online chat. And neither did Danis post anything on social media regarding that. He told Ariel Helwani that all was good now that the duo have talked it out and made their feelings clear.
