Has Charley Hull let herself go? She wants to run 5k or 3.1 miles in 20 minutes, which would be 6 minutes less than her current record time. To do that, the English golfer has been training purposefully since the beginning of the year. And she has shared the details of her extreme workout on her Instagram. This has left many fans shocked and worried that Hull might be pushing herself too far.
But the Charley Hull of 2025 is one of the fittest pure athletes in golf. Her outstanding transformation since 2024 has been rewarded with amazing results that she often displays on social media. Hull is in the absolute best shape of her life and she has shown no sign of slowing down, until now. The LPGA Tour pro’s latest Instagram story shows her completing another morning run. She ran 7k or 4.40 miles at the speed of 9.23 minutes/mile. That is 6.39 miles/hour, only a few seconds away from her target of 6: 27 miles/hour. As fast as she was, Hull might not be focused on achieving her goal this morning. The reason this story was important is because the English player indulged in something she doesn’t often do. As the caption read, “Steady 7k this morning after the gym. Sweated that hangover out first time drank in 4 months ”
Yes, the beloved golf star seems to be enjoying her time away from golf. With no Tour events scheduled for the next 10 days, this was probably the best time for her to unwind a bit before getting back on track. And she didn’t let the opportunity go to waste. Charley Hull went out drinking and possibly having a little fun.

Often, she’s in the headlines for her unconventional ways surrounding fitness regime. Hull has even called the regular practices “boring” to put it mildly. Why? Sharing on Instagram, she answered it. “People are asking why I run so much and why I don’t do golf-specific training,” she wrote. “1. golf training is boring I have no interest in that at all but the training & weights I do help my golf.”
But she is immediately back to her routine the next morning as she prepares for the Ford Championship 2025. With a trip to Chandler, Arizona booked next, let’s take a look at how Hull played in the event last year.
Charley Hull at the 2024 Ford Championship
The Ford Championship was one of the five back-to-back titles Nelly Korda had won in 2024. The world #1 overshadowed everyone on the field as she continued her triumphant run on the LPGA Tour. On the other hand, Charley Hull had one of the worst experiences playing in the Arizona-based event last year. Hull contracted an illness after completing the first round of the tournament. That made it impossible for her to continue and the English golfer withdrew from the tournament.
Signs of her struggle can be seen on the leaderboard as well. While Hull tried to fight back with two birdies, she couldn’t maintain her advantage as she also gave away two bogeys. At the end of the first 18, Charley Hull managed an on-par 72 before withdrawing from the 2024 Ford Championship. Hopefully, she will have better luck this year.
