Talk about regret after trading a player in the NHL? Here we are! The hockey fans are bringing the internet down as they realize the Vancouver Canucks have made a mistake by trading J.T. Miller a month ago to the New York Rangers. Actually, it was said that he was having a tremendous level of disagreement with the way his (former) teammate, Elias Pettersson, was playing. It was just a personality matter! In October 2024, they also had a fistfight during a practice session. Horrible as teammates, right?
But even more horrible is, after Pettersson’s Vancouver Canucks traded J.T. Miller, the Rangers player is locked in and performing so well. People have compared Elias Pettersson’s stats with Miller’s to substantiate why they think it was an ugly trade. Miller has scored 7 goals in 11 games for the Rangers since the trade. And where does Elias Pettersson stand? He hasn’t scored a single goal in the past 11 games.
And that’s why when Pettersson was asked about the same, he said, “I haven’t played to the expectation that I have on myself, the franchise has on me…I want to turn it around more than anyone. Good practice today and ready for tomorrow.” To elaborate, Pettersson admitted, “Well, I think about it a lot, and I haven’t been the way I want to be this year. I haven’t played to the expectations I have of myself or the franchise has on me. And I’ll be the first one to tell you. That’s in the past. I just want to take these last 22 games – and hopefully more – and play my best hockey. I wish we had more wins; wish I had played a lot better. Can’t dwell on that. Just try to look ahead.”
