It seems celebrities aren’t exactly immune to embarrassing moments in public. Recently, Tracy Morgan fell victim to one such incident. He blamed food poisoning for suffering an ill fate during the Heat-Knicks game. The acclaimed actor/comedian was courtside at Madison Square Garden and vomited during the second half with 6:09 left in the third quarter. Discussing the viral moment of last week was Cameron Brink, and she wasn’t alone. The WNBA star on her podcast made the revelation of suffering a similar fate but not courtside. So where then?
Co-host Sydel Curry-Lee asked where the throwing-up incident happened and if it was in front of the public. The 23-year-old forward said, “Paying the Uber fee” and the guest on the podcast chimed in with a similar experience. Kayla Nicole stated, “I have thrown up in Uber before“. This was not the only Uber experience that Cameron Brink shared on ‘Straight to Cam‘. “Ubers are so insanely hard to get.”
The LA Sparks star even offered to drive and pick up friends from the airport, since the taxi service was hard to find. Since she stays 30 minutes from the airport requesting an Uber Black seems futile to her. “I’m like I don’t want to pay for an Uber black to get me from the curb…Unless a company is giving me the Uber Black, I’m like no, I’m saving my money.” But the former NCAA champion also acknowledged the benefit was using the premium service of the transportation company as she narrated an incident with TMZ.
“I think I was coming back from Miami and got off the flight; got my bag and then TMZ like rolled up right in my face.” While narrating the incident, Cameron Brink explained she was “super drowsy” at the time. “They’re like ‘Cameron, what are you do…?‘” The sudden and unexpected nature of questioning left her flabbergasted. “I was like ‘I got to go’ and roll out of there.”

The star forward would call her parents and they thought the moment with TMZ was “so cool“. But Cam disagreed, “It’s not cool.” Still nursing an injury, it made sense for her to use Uber to get her out of the barrage of questions from TMZ. But that’s not the only off-court struggle she has been facing.
Cameron Brink’s mental struggle continues months after season-ending injury
The WNBA star’s career was going well, averaging 7.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in her rookie season. No one would have expected that it would all fall apart in June 2024, The cause? A torn ACL during the game against the Connecticut Sun. Just like that, she was out for the season. Out of the running for the Paris Olympics. That one injury turned her career upside down.
“This has been the hardest thing I’ve ever had to go through, and so just being prompted like that, especially when I don’t feel like it’s on my own terms to talk about, I just get very emotional about it.” Eight months post-injury, Brink is in the thickest part of her recovery. The 2025 WNBA season kicks off on May 16th, less than 2 months from now. The team has also added the experienced and champion player Kelsey Plum to their roster.
Even the co-owner of the team, Magic Johnson, was excited about the arrival. Brink took to Instagram, to share her excitement over the news. “KP my DAWG,” and she added purple and yellow heart emojis. As of now, there is no timeline set for the star forward to return on the hardwood. The fans of the Sparks will be hoping it is sooner rather than later.
