The David MorrellDavid Benavidez saga somehow turned more vicious after the fight. The rivalry started heating up during the final press conference as Morrell’s manager Luis DeCubas Sr got into a scuffle with Benavidez. Things turned up a notch after the Mexican Monster won over Morrell via a unanimous and controversial decision which left many shocked and surprised.

While the fighters made peace after trading punches, the bad blood between Benavidez with DeCubas Sr continued. During the post-match press conference, team Benavidez got into another quarrel with the Cuban boxer’s manager and things got pretty ugly.

David Benavidez issues a chilling warning

While the fight concluded controversially, undoubtedly both fighters put on a performance of a lifetime. David Morrell was the first to reach the post-match press conference and was already answering questions before the 30-0 boxer arrived. The latter went ahead and shook Cuban’s hand, putting all the bad blood aside, with Morrell reciprocating Benavidez’s gesture. However, while there, he once again got into an argument with DeCubas.

The Cuban promoter refused to shake hands with David Benavidez and shouted toward him and his team, “They called me a thief. He called me a thief, man,” referring to the scathing remarks Benavidez made during their last press conference alleging DeCubas Sr was making more money from their fight than his fighter, David Morrell.

As Benavidez sat down, the harangue from DeCubas continued. David Benavidez’s father Jose Benavidez Sr even replied, “We never called you a thief.” However, the trading of barbs continued. “I wish I could trade checks with you,” stated DeCubas Sr. David Benavidez quickly replied that he “would never work with” DeCubas. But what sent the bickering over the line was DeCubas calling them “snitch.” This was enough to send David Benavidez into a fit of rage. Benavidez threatened to “slap the f**k outta you,” before David Morrell, his father, and other crewmates intervened to break up the confrontation between the fighter and the IBHF Hall Of Famer 2023 nominee.

While David Benavidez and David Morrell stole the show, it looks like Luis DeCubas is still not over their feud. How this bad blood progresses, only time will tell. Let us know your thoughts down below.
