Caitlin Clark Leads the Way for Fever’s Latest Signings in WNBA First

2 min read

Indiana Fever was treading well enough to hold onto the fifth spot on the WNBA standings when the heartbreak struck. With Caitlin Clark already out, Aari McDonald and Sydney Colson saw their seasons come to an end in a flash. So when the team for forced to make moves, they bet on a vet– Odyssey Sims. But the front office wasn’t done yet.

In a heartwarming and historic move, the Fever have become the first W’s team to officially sign Special Olympics athletes to their roster, and of course, CC, as usual, was at the center of it all. With the Fever reeling from a wave of injuries, including Clark’s own absence due to a lingering groin issue, the franchise took a moment to make an impact beyond the court.

So, on 11th August, after practice, the team welcomed five athletes from Special Olympics Indiana in a special signing ceremony that featured each player putting pen to paper on their contracts before proudly holding up their personalized Fever jerseys.

So you know, while CC’s sidelined but still very much the team’s emotional leader, she led the cheers as her teammates erupted in applause for their newest members.
