Caitlin Clark Gets 2-Word Adorable Reply After Sending Boyfriend Connor McCaffery Birthday Wish

Collegiate romance is great, but it’s even better when you marry your high school sweetheart, and that’s exactly what happened with LeBron James and Savannah James. That’s why they’ve been my couple goals for the longest time. But lately, a new couple has taken their place, and it’s none other than Caitlin Clark and Connor McCaffery (even though they met in college). I mean, it’s just pure love, two lovebirds supporting each other on and off the court. While it’s only been two years since they went public, it feels like we’ve known them forever. And just when I thought I couldn’t love this duo any more, CC gave us yet another reason!

It all happened on July 13th, which also happens to be Connor McCaffery’s 27th birthday. So how could CC miss celebrating it, right? Given the WNBA’s packed schedule, throwing a birthday bash might not be possible, but CC found her own sweet way to show love. Right after the Fever’s 102–83 win over the Wings, she took to her official Instagram account and, just like always, penned a heartfelt message.

“Happy happy happy birthday Con You make every day better and I couldn’t be more grateful. May this be the best year yet, I love you ,” she wrote, alongside a series of photos that beautifully captured their unwavering bond. Adorable, right? Well, it didn’t stop there. Connor, touched by the post, reposted it with a heart emoji and followed it up with “Love you,” keeping their sweet tradition alive.

In fact, I am sure it will go on to become an annual ritual for them. And, it all began on July 13, 2024, when Caitlin posted, “Happy Birthday Con! Celebrating you is easy thankful to have someone as selfless and as loving as you in my life … May this be the year you finally find a way to outshoot me Love you always .” And Connor, always the playful one, replied, “I’ll keep letting you win those shooting contests!!!!!”

While the world first saw them go public in August 2023, when Caitlin posted a photo with the caption “Best end to summer”, their love story began much earlier. It all started during their student-athlete days at the University of Iowa, where Caitlin starred for the women’s basketball team and Connor played under his father, head coach Fran McCaffery. And ever since then, they’ve had each other’s backs.

And it’s not just about birthdays and Instagram posts. Connor has consistently been there for Caitlin – online, courtside, and emotionally. Just recently, he and the Butler squad were spotted at an Atlanta Dream game, showing support for CC when she was going through a shooting slump and dealing with injuries. But that’s nothing new. Connor has always been one of Caitlin’s loudest cheerleaders. Remember when he threw a playful jab after the Indiana Fever posted Clark’s rookie accolades? He posted on X, “Is that all???” It was lighthearted but also a reminder that CC’s rookie achievements couldn’t possibly be summed up in just one post. And if you think this dynamic is one-sided, it’s not!

Caitlin Clark and Connor’s support goes both ways!

Well, CC’s relationship with Connor goes far beyond romance; it’s become a story of two families embracing each other through life’s highs and lows. Just earlier this year in March, she was seen courtside at Hinkle Fieldhouse cheering for Connor and his younger brother Patrick, who was playing his final college game after battling thyroid cancer.

She’s also been spotted sitting next to Jack McCaffery, Connor’s youngest sibling, during the game where he officially committed to Butler. These public gestures have made it clear, Caitlin’s bond with the McCafferys runs deep. And the family has returned that love just as strongly. Caitlin has even extended her support to Connor’s father, Fran McCaffery, after he was let go as Iowa’s head coach, as she liked Connor’s heartfelt tribute on social media and stood by the family during the transition.

But what makes this bond even more special is how both families have come together. During Thanksgiving, Caitlin brought her parents, Brent and Anne, and brothers, Blake and Colin, to watch a Butler game, blending both sides into one supportive unit. So, whether it’s celebrating career milestones, recovering from health battles, or navigating life changes, Caitlin’s presence in the McCaffery family’s life reflects a relationship built on shared values, mutual respect, and unconditional support! What else do you need to be called a perfect couple?
