Earlier this year, in the season-opening NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Daytona International Speedway, Rajah Caruth experienced a devastating setback that left him stunned. With only 20 laps remaining in the Fresh from Florida 250, mayhem broke out on the track, as it tends to do in the Truck Series. A huge pileup destroyed the day for eight drivers including big names Michael McDowell, Matt Crafton, and Toni Breidinger. Rajah, on the other hand, got caught in the middle of the chaos with his No. 71 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet for Spire Motorsports taking damage that ended his race way too early.
He reflected, “Hate it for my HendrickCars.com and Spire Motorsports Chevrolet, for all the men and women at the automotive group in Spire. I felt that we deserved a little better, but it’s Daytona so it happens.” The wreck wasn‘t merely a physical loss it was an emotional one, a reminder of just how quickly things can fall apart in racing, especially at a track as merciless as Daytona. But Rajah isn‘t the kind of guy to let setbacks get the better of him.
Rajah Caruth is set for an awesome swap opportunity to taste the Electric future of NASCAR
In spite of the sour finish to his Daytona performance, he drew on the counsel of his mentor, Bubba Wallace, who has been a constant figure in his professional life. Rajah is one of NASCAR‘s Drive for Diversity program participants. Wallace, the sole Black full-time competitor in NASCAR‘s premier division, supports the singular challenges Rajah encounters as a minority in motorsports. His ability has already come shining through in prior seasons—such as in 2024, when he secured a win in Las Vegas and placed seventh on the Truck Series driver standings for Spire Motorsports. It was his first win, which made him the third Black driver to win in one of NASCAR‘s three national series, and he joined legendary company with Wendell Scott and Wallace himself.
But now two worlds are colliding—NASCAR’s roaring engines and Formula E’s electric speed—at the iconic Homestead-Miami Speedway. On April 11, 2025, Adam Stern shared on X: “.@RajahCaruth_ will take part in an @ABBGroupNews-sponsored driver swap with @JamieChadwick before tomorrow’s @FIAFormulaE race at Homestead, though it’s contingent on tonight’s Truck race not being postponed. Caruth would drive the FE car; Chadwick is to pilot the NASCAR EV.” Rajah is set to pilot the ABB Formula E race car, while Jamie Chadwick, a 26-year-old test driver for Jaguar TCS Racing and one of the most decorated female racers in the world, would drive the ABB NASCAR EV Prototype. Even Spire Motorsports shared him flying off to Miami.

This prototype, revealed at the 2024 NASCAR Chicago Street Race, was a big deal. Co-created with Chevrolet, Ford, and Toyota, it‘s a part of NASCAR‘s initiative to align race cars with street cars, as Eric Nyquist, NASCAR‘s Senior Vice President and Chief IMPACT Officer, said: “There could not be a more optimal moment in time to announce our first IMPACT partner than in tandem with the debut of our prototype electric vehicle at the Chicago Street Race.” ABB, a pioneer in EV technology, was fully invested in this collaboration, looking to decarbonize NASCAR‘s operations. They‘re even going to make 100% renewable electricity at NASCAR tracks by 2028 and include on-site EV charging stations.
Bubba Wallace’s gaming setup got Dale Jr buzzing
Bubba Wallace, who‘s currently sitting eighth in the Cup Series, posted photos of his wild new gaming room on social media, and quite frankly anyone would become addicted. It‘s that awesome, even Dale Jr., no gaming novice, was left agog.
Two giant monitors, a PlayStation 5, and two powerful gaming computers loaded up with bright colored lights. The room has black walls with pink LED strips of light running underneath the ceiling to give it that epic feel. Bubba‘s definitely amped, taking to socials to say, “New crib gaming setup coming along nicely @LogitechG.” Like, who wouldn’t want to hang out there? Dale Jr., who streams games himself since stepping back from full-time racing, couldn’t resist hyping it up.
He’s been super supportive of Bubba lately, even defending him after a tough moment at Darlington where Bubba got caught in a wreck with Kyle Larson. But this time, it’s all about the gaming love—no controversy, just pure excitement. Dale’s reaction had fans buzzing too, with one calling the setup “clean” and others saying it’s their dream gaming cave.
Bubba‘s juggling it all—racing, being a new father since last September, and still putting heart into this gaming hobby. So relatable, huh? Like a buddy who‘s just psyched to share their new hobby. Watching Dale Jr. and fans rally around him makes it that much sweeter, reminding us Bubba‘s more than a driver—he‘s got depth.
This gaming configuration’s a complete winner, and causing low-key envy. What do you think, would you game in Bubba‘s legendary room?
