That same year at the Rocket Classic, he found himself in hot water again, this time for snapping at a cameraman. While in contention to win, DeChambeau grew irritated when the cameraman filmed him closely as he got out of a bunker and walked toward the green, asking if it was really necessary to be that close. These moments cemented his “crybaby” reputation, something he’s been trying to shake off.

In a recent video with Adam Sandler, the star of the upcoming movie Happy Gilmore 2, in which DeChambeau also played a role, he showed a different side of himself. Instead of fiery outbursts, he talked about keeping his cool. DeChambeau admitted he used to get angry a lot on the course, but now he’s focused on controlling his reactions, saying he doesn’t want kids to see him losing his temper.
So when you work hard on staying calm, it shows. DeChambeau kept his composure on the course and, with a solid performance tied for 11th at LIV UK, comments like those can still shake a player’s confidence.
