Kyren Lacy’s death has rocked the world of CFB to the core. In what is being reported as being a case of suicide, Lacy is seeing an outpouring of love and condolences. Slated to go pro this year, his loss is, without a doubt, a massive twist in the gut for those looking forward to him. At LSU last year, Lacy put forward some great numbers. The news of his death has shaken a lot of CFB stars, including some who were banking on Lacy to join them in the NFL. People are now looking back on some fond memories that are now the last they’d ever built with Lacy.

Despite LSU’s okay-ish record of 9-4, Lacy stood out with his performance in 2024. Last season, his receiving yards totaled 866, along with 9 visits to the endzone. His career graph shows a steady rise and seemed to have immense promise ahead of his draft declaration. However, his involvement in a car accident that had taken the life of a 78-year-old changed things. He was, in fact, scheduled for a hearing some hours later for now. Many think it to be a reason behind the death of Kyren Lacy, as evidence was set to be presented at the hearing. Lacy was out on bail the very day of his arrest after paying $151,000.

He is deeply missed by close friends, especially those at LSU. The up-and-coming WR played here for 3 seasons and found a friend in Bryce Underwood. It’s no news that the latter looked good to be heading to the Tigers for a long time before he flipped to Michigan. Lacy’s death has moved Underwood, and he took to Instagram to share his grief. The star recruit shared a screenshot of a conversation from December last year. Lacy wrote, “I love you too lil brudda. Can’t wait to see you f— college up!! I’m always supporting no matter what.” He also said, “Real s— lil brudda I mean dat! Go be great Yk I’m always here no matter what… locked in!” It seems like Underwood really took to Lacy as an inspiration. He had also nicknamed Lacy as ‘Deuce,’ as he mentions in further stories.

Lacy was expected to go as a first-round pick if not for the accident that followed towards the end of his season. He reportedly fled the scene without calling authorities to respond. Lacy then surprisingly declared for the draft two days afterward. His death came as a shock to everyone after being found in a hotel room in Houston on Saturday. With more details coming in, condolences continue to come in from everywhere. LSU fans are turning up to leave tributes in memory as Lacy’s teammates remember their memories with him.

Kyren Lacy was also much loved by Jayden Daniels

Underwood looked up to him for support, but there were also guys senior to Lacy who had a great bond with him. Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels also shared a happy interaction between them, to which he also added some grieving words. The former LSU star was keen to have him in Washington as well.

Lacy was seen talking to Daniels over a video call. “I’m proud of y’all boys bro,” Lacy told the QB. Later, Daniels said, “Our brother, Kyren Lacy, he’s been there with us. It was a Big 4, for sure. I’m excited for him. I know he’s happy for us.“ That was the day he was officially capped as a Commander, drafted as Pick No. 2 in round 1 by Washington. A fellow teammate said, “We might be on the same video giving him the same speech next year.” Also, Daniels wrote, “u f—– me up w this one 2, it was yo turn next year bro, we was finna be there right with I swear.” It had quite a number of broken-hearted emojis, so we know how badly Daniels is affected by Lacy’s passing.

The young talent had condolences coming in from far and wide. His death has also raised more conversation about mental health, and checking in on your loved ones. Dak Prescott, who lost his brother to suicide, took this moment to encourage people to address their troubles. “Ask 4 help,” the Cowboys QB wrote. Kyren Lacy surely could have had a worthwhile time in the NFL had his time not been cut so short. Family and friends will surely remember him in good regard during this troubling time.
