Hey, NFL fans, let’s talk about the league crossing paths with the NHL! As you all know, the NFL offseason is in full swing, and whether players are busy or relaxing depends on their free-agent status. Like many other quarterbacks, Denver Broncos star Bo Nix is making the most of his downtime. Last night, he attended an NHL game—and turned out to be a lucky charm for the Colorado team. But what really stole the show? A heartwarming fan gesture from Nix that had everyone talking.

Bo Nix and the Broncos squad were in attendance for the Colorado Avalanche vs. Dallas Stars showdown. With the NHL trade deadline wrapping up on March 7, all eyes were on Dallas’ Mikko Rantanen and Avalanche star Brock Nelson. And who was Bo Nix rooting for? No surprises there—it was the Colorado Avalanche! Rocking an Avalanche sweater, Nix was fully in the spirit. But the real highlight? When the game was in full swing, the announcers gave the Denver Broncos star a special shoutout, making sure everyone took notice!

As Bo Nix waved to the crowd, a hockey fan approached him for an autograph—and the Broncos’ No. 10 didn’t disappoint. While signing, he also showed some love to the Avalanche mascot, turning heads with his wholesome moment. Sharing the clips on his Instagram story, Nix celebrated the win, writing, “Big Colorado Avalanche win!”

And what a game it was! After a thrilling third period that ended in a 3-3 tie, the matchup headed into overtime. Then, just 34 seconds in, Cale Makar sealed the deal with a clutch goal, securing victory for Nix’s favorite team!

While Bo Nix is unwinding with NHL games and spending time with teams, he’s also staying locked in on football. The Broncos’ QB is actively involved in helping the organization prepare for the 2025 NFL Draft.

And according to a recent report by Broncos Wire, plenty of intriguing possibilities are emerging!

Bo Nix to help the Broncos get top Oregon talents

Let’s rewind to the 2024 NFL Draft—remember what went down? The Denver Broncos wasted no time selecting Bo Nix in the first round. But that wasn’t all! Nix also played a role in bringing his Oregon teammate, Troy Franklin, to the franchise. Now, as the 2025 draft approaches, expectations are high that Nix will once again help the Broncos land top talent from Oregon!

One of the most expected picks could be tight end Terrance Ferguson from Oregon, the same college where Nix played. The other names that can be added to the Broncos’ armor are wide receiver Tez Johnson and running back Jordan James. To talk about the top prospect from Oregon, tight end Terrance Ferguson, he has played four years for the Ducks. The star tight end has managed to receive 43 receptions for 591 yards and has scored a total of three touchdowns in the 2024 season.

Remembering last year’s draft, Sean Payton said, “[Last year], we were there at the [Oregon] pro day. But the next day was the private workout. You have to pay close attention.” He added, “It was interesting to see how many of [Nix’s] teammates. They had just finished working out Friday, and here it was Saturday morning, and here were another 10. You just pay attention to all of it.”

The head coach’s statement made one thing clear—the Oregon football program has strong ties to the Denver Broncos. And with Bo Nix now in the mix, those connections have only grown even deeper!
