Chicago’s front office is not playing around this offseason. First, they ensured Kyler Gordon wasn’t going anywhere, locking down the rising star cornerback with a three-year $40M extension. With this deal, Kyler became one of the highest-paid slot corners in the league. Then they just dropped another $20 million to keep linebacker T.J. Edwards in town for two more years. Since joining Chicago in 2023, Edwards has been an absolute tackle machine—290 stops and 6.5 sacks in just 34 games.
First Kyler Gordon, now TJ Edwards. Both in Chicago long-term. https://t.co/a9sl1IQMxQ

That’s some serious trust in the young corner and a clear sign the Bears are going all-in on defense. With Ben Johnson now in the mix, dialing up the offense, Chicago seems to be finally setting a tone.
This is a developing story. Stay tuned.
