The countdown is on for Carlos Alcaraz‘s highly anticipated Netflix docuseries! This 21-year-old tennis sensation has been making waves since 2021, and now his story is finally hitting the streaming giant. But Alcaraz isn’t new to Netflix; he’s already appeared in the ‘Netflix Slam’ alongside his idol Rafael Nadal. He also appeared in ‘Break Point,’ which unfortunately didn’t quite hit the mark. Now, all eyes are on his latest project. For a while, Alcaraz has been cleverly building anticipation, from cryptically writing “tudum” on a camera lens last year at Indian Wells to sporting a temporary tattoo on his forearm of the release date during the same tournament. With days left for the release, even tennis legend Boris Becker is joining the buzz!
Alcaraz’s 2024 season was nothing short of phenomenal. Cameras captured every high and low, from his triumphant wins at the French Open and Wimbledon to his Olympic silver medal. This young Spaniard left an indelible mark on the tennis world. Netflix is set to bring this journey to life in “Carlos Alcaraz: My Way” (or “A mi manera” in Spanish). Back in February, Netflix gave fans a sneak peek with some captivating stills—Alcaraz celebrating his 21st birthday, proudly displaying his Wimbledon trophy, and relaxing with friends on a boat.
The excitement is palpable as Netflix recently unveiled the first poster on X, teasing the docuseries with a tantalizing promise: “He wants to be a champion. He also wants to enjoy being 21. Dive into the life, challenges, and choices beyond the court in ‘Carlos Alcaraz: My Way. ‘” Premiering on April 23, this series has even caught the attention of tennis legend Boris Becker, who enthusiastically replied, “Can’t wait to watch it,” after tennis journalist José Morgado shared the poster.

Other than the teaser, Carlos’ on-court promo attempts, and the poster, the details of the series have been kept well under wraps. However, Netflix’s synopsis reads: “This documentary series follows Carlos Alcaraz as he balances the pressures of a phenomenal tennis career with a 20-year-old’s desire to let loose.” This sentiment is seen in the clips and trailer, taking fans through his origins. Going all the way back to his humble beginnings in Murcia, Spain, and getting to know the tight-knit family that has supported his success. This was seen not too long ago following his Miami Open exit in the first round.
The four-time Grand Slam champion’s Sunshine Double dreams didn’t quite materialize. After a strong semifinal run at Indian Wells, where he fell to Jack Draper, Alcaraz faced a surprising early exit in Miami, losing to David Goffin in his first match. Following this setback, Alcaraz shifted gears, finding solace in the warmth of family and Mexico’s stunning landscapes. He was spotted enjoying beach volleyball, yachting, and swimming with his family in his Instagram posts.
Seems like a great way to unwind and recharge after a solid run from January to now, right? This is perfect ahead of the French Open and the clay season. However, while Becker is hyped to see his new docuseries, he also expressed concern for Alcaraz’s run on clay going ahead.
Boris Becker shares his thoughts on Alcaraz’s anticipated clay season
Boris Becker recently shared his concerns about Carlos Alcaraz’s packed schedule on the Becker Petkovic podcast. He admitted, “I was afraid that the Spaniard would simply play too many tournaments and that he would also play exhibitions during the winter break.” His fears were realized when Alcaraz participated in an exhibition match in Puerto Rico before Indian Wells, where he lost to Jack Draper in the semifinals.
Becker noted, “This is all nice for the wallet, but for the annual planning, the tournament planning, it is bad.” Unfortunately, Becker’s predictions came true as Alcaraz’s form continued to dip in Miami. Following his early exit in Miami, Alcaraz took a well-deserved break with his family in Mexico. Becker observed, “He is now in Mexico with his family.” While this vacation might be perfect for unwinding, Becker expressed concern about Alcaraz’s upcoming clay court campaign.
He questioned whether Alcaraz would be ready for Monte Carlo, suggesting, “If he only starts in Barcelona, as always, that’s fine, but he has to get [going] now.” Becker emphasized the importance of seeing Alcaraz in the semifinals, especially after his recent win in Paris. but despite Boris Becker’s concerns, Carlos has demonstrated remarkable resilience in his 2025 season.
After a quarterfinal loss to Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open, Alcaraz bounced back with a title win in Rotterdam and a strong quarterfinal appearance at the Qatar Open. Although his Sunshine Double campaign didn’t quite meet expectations, Alcaraz is now gearing up to defend his French Open title on clay, a surface where he truly shines. So is a Monte Carlo title on the cards for Alcaraz as he begins his clay-court journey?
