It may be an unfortunate thing to comprehend, but the anticipation surrounding Conor McGregor making a UFC comeback is slowly dying down. In July, it will be over four years since he last competed inside the Octagon, and as fans keep trying to find an indication that a return might just be possible, Dana White squashed all those hopes after he recently dismissed McGregor’s comeback in the near future.
“He’s not fighting anytime soon. I haven’t talked to him in a minute, but yeah, I don’t know,” Dana White recently stated, highlighting the fact that he hasn’t been in contact with Conor McGregor for some time now. And we’re not really that surprised since the Irishman has his hands full with business ventures and a wish to become the President of Ireland. And in his almost four years away from action, it seems like his priorities have changed.
Conor McGregor is more active on social media than most of his peers. After all, he uses his platforms to promote his business, but he also gives us a glimpse into what he’s up to in his time away from the UFC. Recently, ‘The Notorious’ shared a few pictures of himself with his extended family, his wife, Dee Devlin, and his children, and in the caption, he mentioned the most important things in his life. “Football, family, pub,” wrote McGregor on Instagram.
Conor McGregor has already mentioned that he’s happy with the body of work he’s done in the UFC in his career, so it’s understandable that he wants to give his time to his family now. Additionally, his businesses, including his Black Forge Inn Pub, are also flourishing, and so focusing on that aspect of his life is also an understandable move.
But the only thing that could confuse people is his love for football, or as we call it across the Atlantic, soccer. McGregor doesn’t have a soccer team yet, but maybe that changes soon.
While his UFC career is in a questionable spot, there were murmurs that he’d maybe be making his way back into boxing. Furthermore, Conor McGregor was speculated to be competing against an influencer, as YouTube star KSI revealed some details regarding it.
KSI claims his team approached Conor McGregor
One of the first YouTubers to ever step into the boxing ring, KSI, has been pretty available in the influencer boxing scene, but not as much as Jake Paul. But both of them were rallying for a scrap against Conor McGregor since late 2023, who even called out the Sidemen member during a boxing event. And things were rolling in KSI’s favor as his team reached out to ‘The Notorious’ with an offer to fight him under the Misfits Boxing banner.
However, due to unknown reasons, Conor McGregor declined the offer, according to KSI’s recent comments. Moreover, he’s not expecting to see the Irishman fight anytime soon due to his other plans, including his aspiration to become the leader of Ireland. “We had a fight set up, and Conor said no. I don’t know, it could be money, it could be his mindset. It could be a lot of reasons,” KSI stated during a recent Misfits presser.
“I don’t think he knows what he’s going to be doing the next day. He’s all over the place. One minute, he wants to be the prime minister of Ireland; the next, he wants to do a random side quest. Who cares,” KSI added. Well, it seems like there’s no certainty where McGregor ends up. It could be the UFC, it could be boxing, or it could be even BKFC, which is something that he’s mentioned time and time again. But what do you think? Drop your comments below.
