Anthony Davis Accused of Being in LeBron James’ Way While Major Conspiracy Strikes the 40YO

5 min read

No matter how much backlash you throw at him, he’s going to remain the King. By now, all doubts about why LeBron James owns that glorious title should be clear. At 40, he plays like 25, teaming up with Austin Reaves and top-five star Luka Doncic. To be more precise here, Bron’s game seems to have bloomed after Anthony Davis left for the Dallas Mavericks. Therefore, a few doubtful fingers point at the Brow in light of James Sr.’s recent performances.

Recently, Marcus Morris Sr. spoke to Yahoo Sports about the LeBron-Luka tandem that’s running wild in Los Angeles. Well, why shouldn’t that be the case? After all, Rob Pelinka caught one of the biggest fishes off the NBA Trade Market in Feb. However, given how the Akron Hammer has improved since Doncic’s debut, one thing is sure, there was a hurdle and now that’s out of the way.

“I felt this, Anthony Davis was in LeBron’s way,” Marcus Morris told the host. “Because LeBron’s really a four now, and that’s the position that Anthony Davis wanted to play. He’s always on the box, he wasn’t really stretching the three that well.” Morris suggested that Anthony Davis’ playing style was limiting LeBron James’ effectiveness. LeBron now plays more like a power forward (“a four”), which is also the position Davis prefers.

Since Davis mostly stays in the paint and isn’t a strong three-point shooter, it crowds the space LeBron could use, making their on-court fit less smooth. Morris further added: “Now you add another guard—not even just another guard, let’s just make that clear. You add a top-five guard in the NBA, that top-five player. A player who can get it from anywhere, and he’s a matchup nightmare.”

When 77 walks into the building, the OKC, Minnesota, Mavericks, Clippers everyone dreads seeing him. And now he has the 23 on his back, equalling to a 100. Therefore, if LeBron James and Luka Doncic stay healthy, the Lakers have a strong chance of success. At least that’s what Morris strongly believes. But hey! Don’t let Stephen A. Smith know about this, he’ll hate the idea.

Meanwhile, LeBron James’ groin injury has kept him out since March 8, shaking up the Lakers. At 40, he remains their backbone, both in play and leadership. Weird conspiracies swirl, but everyone feels his absence. However, relief may be near. Ruled out for two weeks, he could return by March 22, just in time to reignite L.A.’s momentum. Now the question is, can someone concoct an injury in a cauldron?

Is LeBron James really injured?

American TV personality Nick Wright went all-out against the doubtful eyes that have found some weird conspiracy theory in LeBron’s injury. Wright says that criticism of LeBron James is a recurring pattern. People are so eager to discredit him that they often contradict themselves, finding reasons to criticize him regardless of the situation. Right after LeBron’s injury, two major voices in basketball media, Charles Barkley and Bill Simmons, declared, “He’s probably done for the rest of the regular season.” Simmons even questioned his All-NBA eligibility, while Barkley insisted, “He’s not going to play again this year until the playoffs.”

But just a week later, the narrative flipped. Bill Simmons, not Barkley, stirred a bizarre theory: “Are we sure he actually got hurt?” Some now claim LeBron saw the Celtics’ loss coming, knew Bryce had a big game, and simply took “a little PTO,” Nick Wright mocked. Yet, the reality is often simpler—age, miles, and a tough matchup likely caused the injury, not a grand scheme.

We went *really quick* from folks wondering if LeBron could miss the remainder of the regular season to… the same exact folks implying LeBron never actually got hurt.

Thus, Nick Wright dismissed wild theories with logic. “The most obvious answer is usually the right one.” LeBron, at 40, has played more NBA minutes than anyone. One of only two to reach year 22, he tweaked a soft tissue injury while playing center against the champs. Wright says, “I think that probably makes more sense.”

LeBron James’ journey never lacks drama, but the truth stands tall. Doubts, conspiracies, and shifting narratives won’t change his impact. With Luka by his side and Davis out of the picture, the Lakers finally have the spacing to thrive. If health permits, their title hopes are alive. His return is near, and when he steps back on the court, expect the King to silence the noise once again.
