Angry Lamar Jackson Vents at Close Ones Living Off His $100 Million Empire as He Waits For Ravens Contract

Seven years into his NFL career, Lamar Jackson may look like a player who has the world under his feet. Two NFL MVP awards, 4 Pro Bowls and 3 All Pros, all before turning 30. After Michael Vick introduced the dual-threat QB skill, Jackson is often credited for taking it to the next level. He doesn’t just excel at throwing daggers, but also knows how to run from the pocket and end up in the red zone. And there’s also Lamar’s ever-expanding influence on the quarterback position that boils down to his ever-growing bank account, which apparently is causing some problems in his personal life.

Jackson could be one of the highest-paid players in the NFL, given that he is on a five-year, $260M contract. But that doesn’t mean he takes everything for granted. Lamar is one of those players in NFL history who negotiated his contract without a traditional football agent. Prior to his big-money extension, he also saw himself in a contractual impasse with the Ravens. On his contract year, Lamar tweeted, “The Ravens have not been interested in meeting my value” in light of stalled negotiations.

But in the end, he did receive a worthy contract that perfectly matched his value. $185M in guarantees, a $72.5M in signing bonus and an average annual salary of $52M. At that time, Jackson was the highest-paid QB in the league until several others eclipsed him. Based on his contractual earnings, it has been predicted that Jackson has a net worth of over $100M. Having that kind of money can obviously change anyone’s life. As Jackson loves giving back his wealth through the Forever Dreamers foundation, he runs.

For the betterment of the future of underprivileged children, Jackson gives scholarships, offers skill-building training, and even hosts football training workshops. However, that’s his love for charity, especially for those who need it. When it comes to his close ones, Jackson seems to be a little hesitant to help.

On his latest Instagram story, Jackson wrote a scathing message pointing to those who only want to live off his money. “The things YOU work for mfs who never worked or did a thing in life want a piece of it,” Jackson stated. Then proceeded on to call them out publicly without naming them, “Having they hand out and mouth open. Lazy asf no type of hustle or brain.” Given how Jackson is actively involved with charity work, he just doesn’t want to do charity in his own family.

Instead, he wants them to come out of their laziness and work the way Jackson had done his entire NFL career. Because of what he has achieved so far, the Ravens QB could be rewarded with another mega deal, probably the largest the NFL has ever seen.

Lamar Jackson’s wait for his contract extension goes on

Some of you might be wondering why Lamar Jackson is already hoping for a contract extension in the third year of his $260M contract. Well, the answer lies in the deal itself. It was never designed as a five-year contract. Lamar’s salary cap number will rise to a staggering $74.5M in 2026. Obviously, that’s something the Ravens will have to find a solution to either this year or the next. But as every season passes, Jackson’s value only goes up. He was almost a third-time MVP winner if not for the Ravens ‘ loss against Josh Allen’s Bills in the playoffs. This allowed Allen to win his first NFL MVP honor while Jackson’s historic 2024 campaign was overlooked.

Even his head coach, John Harbaugh, acknowledged the fact that they want to renew Lamar’s contract. But how aggressive they want to be, that’s the real question. Right now, Jackson is the ninth-highest-paid QB in the whole league. Of course, that’s something he won’t be proud of, given the way he has been performing. Like 2023, when he briefly reigned over other QBs at the top. He would surely want to reclaim that spot.

But right now, we don’t know when Lamar’s third extension as a Raven will pass through. Only time will tell when the Ravens take his contract negotiations as their utmost priority.
