When you’re dancing with the NFL legends, you’ve got to watch where you’re stepping. Especially if you end up throwing shade at the legendary Bill Belichick, one of the greatest coaches in the NFL. After a major escalation that blew up headlines all over the place, an ex-Dolphins star came face to face with the truth. And with that came a humbling reality check. So what’s this all about?
It all started as a normal conversation between Bill Belichick, his girlfriend Jordon Hudson, and Ryan Clark. But it didn’t go over the crowds as a casual conversation between NFL legends. Many said that the episode of The Pivot Podcast felt “scripted”, and not unfiltered like they usually are. After the episode, ex-Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder appeared on a radio show and complicated things even further. As Crowder saw it, in the interview Jordan “choreographed the open,” and he went on to say, “She kind of coordinates and brand manages – It’s weird to be around Belichick and Jordon – I don’t see Belichick in that light. But he just smiles and nods.” Naturally, the headlines followed. But in the aftermath of it all, Crowder has reconsidered his stance on the whole thing.
On the recent episode of The Pivot Podcast, in conversation with Ryan Clark, Channing Crowder made a sincere apology. Addressing the whole situation, Crowder said, “With him and Jordan. Great, beautiful couple. Honestly, you can see that they love each other. And it’s a real couple. – you look at Bill as a football god. You see him in a different way, and it was not what I spoke on was not what I saw with them. I got caught up in the narrative, caught up in the questioning.”
We recently released a @thepivot episode with Bill Belichick. Since, there’s been interviews, articles and talk surrounded what happened during the 4+ hours that I was there. We figured it was better to speak the truth than let other folks run with a different narrative.… pic.twitter.com/Qu1yDRgXXm

Crowder further added, “I just want to tell Bill Jordan, I apologize for any negativity it brought to you. Coach, we talked on the phone. I told you I respect you as much as I do anybody in this world. And what happened in the articles came out was were unrealistic. And that is not that’s not that is the opposite of what I wanted to do for you and what I want to do for your relationship, coach. So that’s my bad and I want to put it out there as a man.” The respect for Belichick was clearly visible in Crowder, along with regret for all that happened. Even Ryan Clark clarified that the episode was not “choreographed” and added, “And so I think the sort of narrative that people want to build around her and her control wasn’t displayed during our interview.”
With both Channing Crowder’s apology and Ryan Clark’s clarification, the air has finally cleared. But while Crowder has mended the fences with coach Belichick, this comes as a small relief to a man who has suffered a terrible loss himself.
Channing Crowder mourns a devastating loss
When you lose the people closest to you, it’s not only heartbreaking, but it tests you as a human being. Channing Crowder lost his father, Randy Crowder, recently. The loss comes as a devastating shock to Crowder. The two didn’t just share blood and last names, they shared two whole legacies with the Dolphins. So when Channing shared the news, the entire NFL community was shocked. As a great legend rests in peace, Channing sends off his father with a heavy heart and a tearful message. “Still trying to find the words… Last week, I said goodbye to my father. A man who wore many titles: teammate, leader, mentor, husband, and Dad.”
The world lost Randy Crowder on 21st May, at 72, battling with challenging health concerns. No one mourns his loss harder than Channing, as he wrote, “He was a fighter, both on the field and in life. And he fought until the end. Health complications may have taken his body, but it can never touch the impact he made to so many. Everything I know about discipline, heart, and resilience — I learned from him. His legacy isn’t just in the game, but in the man he raised. I’ll carry your name with pride, and I promise that I will make you proud. Heaven got a good one. Love you forever, old man. Keep laughing !!!”
And as Channing Crowder lost the man closest to him, the world was with him. Fans, fellow legends from all across the NFL, came together to celebrate, remember, and send off the man who was one of the greatest stalwart tackles in the Dolphins’ history. With a heavy heart and a lot of memories, we simply say, R.I.P., legend.
