Tragedy has struck again! After multiple failed attempts, the baton handover fiasco does not seem to leave the US track and field team. In what was a major mistake, Team USA once again botched a simple move. To properly deliver the baton as the next in line was about to take off! Competing in the 2025 World Relays, Team USA came in as the favorites to win the title. Unfortunately, during the heats of the 4x100m, the unthinkable happened.
In a quick exchange, one of the female athletes came in, bursting with the baton in her hand. However, as she attempted to hand it over, things went horribly wrong. Her male teammate tried to hurriedly take away the baton while picking up speed. And in a frantic moment of tension and panic, the baton got dropped! Now then, this comes as a huge blow for the US Mixed Relays Team. And although this is one of the most heartbreaking moments, it’s not the first time that the Team USA Relay Team has experienced such a tragic outcome.
