Aided By Professional Help, Paul Pierce Confesses Relationship Plans 2 Years After Divorce

4 min read

Sometimes “the truth” is really hard to swallow. And this time is no different. But if you’re going to take relationship advice from anyone, make sure that Paul Pierce isn’t the first on your bucket list. Remember when he dubbed marriage a hustle for old folks and broke people? Well, plot twist, he has switched lanes and aired a whole new take. You might not wanna miss this outspoken Hall of Famer.

Earlier this month, Paul shared some of his marriage wisdom that left the whole world on standby. Apparently, he believes, “Marriage is for old people and poor people.” Yup, he claimed tying the knot only benefits women and offers no advantage to men. Smells a little Andrew Tate-ish, doesn’t it? But to be fair, this epiphany didn’t hit him overnight.

Paul has had his share of experience. He married Julie Landrum back in 2010, and the two had three kids before calling it quits in 2023. So yes, the guy trashing marriage literally did the thing himself. And here’s the kicker: not even a month later, he’s flipping the script with a brand-new take

On a recent episode of The Truth After Dark podcast, Paul Pierce opened up about his own marriage saga. He admitted, “If I had to do it all over again, would I do it? Absolutely, because I want to see what it was.” Wait, so even after bashing marriage, the man would still sign up for it? Wild, right? But the thing is: Paul doesn’t see his marriage as a regret.

Instead, he treats it like a life lesson. In his own words, “I don’t have no regret of it…I don’t say it’s a mistake, I say it’s a learning experience for sure.”

But that wasn’t all. Then came the real kicker. A few minutes into the podcast, Paul circled back to his infamous marriage take. And guess what? He completely backtracked. Yup, the same guy who said marriage was for old people and poor people is now singing a different tune. In a surprising twist, he said,

“I’m open to love…I’ve opened my mind up to it, like I’ve shut down the wall. I have been in like about two or three long-term relationships. So I’m just like man, I’m off this, you know, I was talking like when I said about the marriage of being poor or 70. Since then, I didn’t talked to a psychiatrist. Since then, I didn’t kind of like open that up now. So that view has changed since then.”

So, if Paul Pierce is suddenly back on the love train, by his own genius logic… that means he’s either broke or pushing retirement home age, right? Let’s break this down. The man made damn near $200 million just from NBA contracts. That’s not even counting endorsement bags, TV gigs, or whatever side hustles he’s got cooking. So poor? Nope.

Which leaves us with one burning question: Is The Truth finally becoming “Old”?

Paul Pierce’s Ready to Hand Out Roses on National TV

Paul Pierce ain’t new to being surrounded by a squad of women on camera and word is, he might run it back on The Bachelor. Back in February on FS1’s Speak, Joy Taylor slid the question in about whether Pierce had any interest in stepping into the Bachelor mansion.

And guess what? The man didn’t flinch.

“Hey, if I’m on The Bachelor, let’s go, I’m ready,” Pierce said with a grin. That’s when Taylor hit him with a reality check, reminding him, “You’re gonna get married again?” Pierce, sounding a little shaky but still game, replied, “I’m ready. I’ve opened my mind up to that, the idea of that. Why not… I’m looking for love.”

So yeah, this man’s been on this love hunt for a minute now, even though his faith in marriage still feels like it’s on life support. It’s wild to see Paul Pierce, so skeptical about marriage, yet putting himself out there again in such a public, vulnerable way. It shows that even the most guarded players can still crave love and second chances, no matter how messy the past was.
