Judge believes it’s Miguel Cabrera and Albert Pujols who have really shaped him. He stated, “I try to model a lot of the stuff I do after Cabrera and Pujols.” Judge is truly inspired by these two. He also further added that time and again, he attempts to follow their path.
In his words: “I’m just trying to follow their lead and wherever I’m at in the lineup, I’ve got to do my job.” Now you see, Miguel Cabrera and Albert Pujols are the greatest of all time. In fact, they are the members of the 3000-hit and 500-home-runs club.
Judge, himself being one of the greatest in the major leagues, never fails to give the Yankees a much-needed lead to stay on top. He admitted that as long as the Yankees (23-17) are winning, he’s happy. However, right now he’s not satisfied. He believes there’s always room for improvement and the Yankees as a whole are trying to refine their team performance more.
It’s fair to say that Judge’s obsession is discipline. Even being the greatest slugger of this era, he is on a personal mission to look up to the greatest of the sport and refine his game.
