That, too, amidst all the frustration with Aaron Boone growing louder across the Bronx.
If you’ve been keeping tabs, you’d know where the Yankees are currently. They have lost six of their last ten games and have been sitting more than five games back in the American League East. This weekend, Boone acknowledged the club’s ongoing slump with a three-word message: “Gut check time.”
He emphasized the urgency to shift the odds. Among all the noise around the Yankees’ rocky stretch, the team’s former player, Clint Frazier, chimed in. He recently drew attention after reacting to a fan’s post, who tagged him on X, saying, “@clintfrazier for Manager.”

He was once one of the top prospects, picked fifth overall in the 2013 MLB draft by the Cleveland Indians. The Indians then traded Frazier to the Bronx in 2016, where he played till 2021. He had been out of the big league spotlight for some time.
Frazier quote-tweeted the idea with a reply saying, “Give me the keys to the car and i’m driving a million miles per hour to a championship.” He made this comment right when Boone’s seat had never looked hotter.
The Yankees have been at their lowest lately. They delivered their worst at Miami when the Marlins swept the Bronx Bombers for the first time in franchise history. After that, calls for firing grew louder, and honestly, this might be his good chance or the final chance to turn things around.
The Yankees have it all—the tools, multiple All-Star names, and the talent to secure the World Series title. However, their costly errors have made them look out of place since May. That has even prompted many franchise greats, many analysts, and the entire fan base to lash out at Boone.

As of August, the Bronx Bombers are sitting at 60-53 and 5.5 games out of the AL East. The current state of the Yankees gave WFAN afternoon host Evan Roberts to claim that the Yankees need to fire Boone as soon as possible.
He opened up about keeping a close eye on the Yankees’ bullpen mismanagement, poor defense, and all the other errors they have been making lately. It seems to baffle him. “The more I’ve watched it, the more angry I get. And so the only solution I can offer to the Yankees fan out there … is they gotta fire the manager. And Aaron, if you’re listening, it ain’t personal, bro. It’s business. Because firing the manager sparks teams,” he said.

The Yankees were highly praised for their moves at this trade deadline. They acquired three relief pitchers and a third baseman. GM Brian Cashman went all in at the deadline. Yet, those moves gave way to a sweep at the hands of the Marlins.
Plus, the Yankees have been visibly loyal to Boone for eight seasons, and it’s unlikely that firing Boone will change much. They need to stack up wins now, but that also requires more than a manager. For now, the Yankees are focusing on limiting the errors and getting Captain Judge back from the sidelines.
