Luka Doncic is here to stay. Well, if that wasn’t evident back when he made the move from Dallas to Hollywood, it’s crystal clear after yesterday’s massive announcement. The five-time All-NBA guard gave his nod to a three-year, $165 million maximum contract extension with the Los Angeles Lakers. While the majority of Doncic’s teammates, and even head coach JJ Redick, were in the building to attend the contract extension presser, one man’s absence caught everyone’s attention.
Any guesses who? Well, if you watched yesterday’s presser, you must’ve seen everyone from Rui Hacimura to new signing DeAndre Ayton posing for a picture with Doncic. However, Doncic’s best and most important teammate, LeBron James, was nowhere to be seen during the event. As expected, James’ absence raised a lot of eyebrows, as many wondered why the Lakers veteran wasn’t present for Doncic’s extension. While no one really knew why LeBron did not attend the presser, that did not stop Jeanie Buss from planning a huge surprise.
The Lakers’ governor took Doncic and his teammates to Las Vegas, where they attended a Backstreet Boys concert.
