Stephen Curry Confirms Family Suffered Loss of Loved One Amid Ayesha Curry’s Heartfelt Message

The stars aligned this time for the Currys. Stephen Curry is a busy man, the Warriors superstar is always traveling to sink threes across the country. But this time he’ll be home for the All-Star weekend, which starts on Valentine’s Day. Being home had its perks for Steph Curry—it meant celebrating Valentine’s Day with his stunning wife, Ayesha, and his loved ones. But someone was missing.

The couple’s love story goes way back to 2003, when they first crossed paths as teens in a North Carolina church youth group. Fast forward to now, they’ve been happily married since 2011 and are proud parents of four kids. And let’s be real—they still give off major couple goals. Whether it’s their playful Halloween costumes, cozy New Year’s Eve selfies, or that glamorous Vanity Fair shoot where Ayesha lounged in style while Steph admired her, they keep proving their love is as strong as ever.

During a BTS video of the Vanity Fair shoot, Steph revealed some heartbreaking news. He opened up about his late dog, Reza, sharing a heartfelt tribute while talking about his love for dogs. “That’s my guy. And he’s actually on that basketball right there,” Curry said, pointing out a special tribute to Reza.

Reza, a beloved Labradoodle, passed away a few months ago. “That’s, that’s Reza. Reza passed about three months ago,” Curry revealed.

The Currys had both Reza and their other dog, Blue, for years. “So we had Reza and Blue for a while,” he said. “Reza’s sort of memorialized there on that basketball. And now we just got Blue.”

The Warriors star reflected on Reza’s long life. “He was a beautiful Labradoodle. He lived almost 12 years,” he shared. But it’s not just dogs Curry has love for—he made sure to let the world know how much he appreciates his wife, Ayesha, too.

On Valentine’s Day, the Warriors star posted a sweet photo of the couple with the caption, “Couple of kids trying to figure out life together. Wouldn’t change a thing my Woman! Happy love day @ayeshacurry.”

Ayesha responded with an equally heartfelt message, commenting, “The plug to my peace.”

Whether it’s family, pets, or his lifelong partner, Curry continues to remind everyone what truly matters to him. But beyond basketball and home life, he and Ayesha have their sights set on something new—hosting Saturday Night Live.

Stephen and Ayesha Curry reveal their desire to host a popular show

During a recent interview with Vanity Fair, the Currys shared that they’ve been hoping for a chance to take the stage on one of their favorite shows. It’s no secret they love a good laugh, and given Steph’s on-camera charm and Ayesha’s natural hosting skills, they’d be a perfect fit.

They didn’t say when or if an invite is coming, but they definitely seem ready. And let’s be real—who wouldn’t want to see Steph cracking jokes in an SNL skit?

“We want to host SNL,” the 2x MVP told Vanity Fair. “It’s something we both love watching. Our kids, they love it. I think it’s hopefully in our future.”

Ayesha, just as excited, chimed in. “We watch SNL as a family,” she said before playfully calling out Steph’s hidden side. “Everybody thinks [Steph is] like ‘super athlete,’ but I actually think he’s a theater nerd like me.”

And she might be right. Turns out, long before he became a four-time NBA champion, Steph had a brief brush with theater. “If I had more time in high school, I probably would have done school plays,” he admitted. “I did a theater production class, though. I was one of those black-shirt kids running around on the stage.”

Ayesha’s reaction? Pure shock. “Wait, I never heard this before. You were a stagehand?” she asked mid-interview. Even after all these years together, Steph still had a surprise up his sleeve.

While Steph’s acting career never took off, Ayesha has already made her Hollywood debut. She recently starred in Irish Wish alongside Lindsay Lohan—so if the Currys do get their SNL moment, she might just steal the show.
