Rob Pelinka & Jeanie Buss No Longer Fear LeBron James’ Threat as Lifelong Wish Emerges

2 min read

Ever since LeBron James’s agent Rich Paul announced that the Los Angeles Lakers superstar is opting for his $53 million player option for next season, a few questions have been lingering in everyone’s minds. The most notable one of them all is, does James want to finish his illustrious career in Southern California? Although LA’s No. 23 is gearing up for his 23rd season in the league and seventh as a Laker, what will happen after next year?

Well, we might finally have an answer to that question as NBA Insider Marc Stein revealed that Rob Pelinka, Jeanie Buss, and the rest of the Lakers management prefer the scenario where James is allowed to leave after the 2025-26 season. “The Lakers “widely presumed preferred scenario” for their future is letting LeBron James’ contract drop off their books after the 2025-26 season, per @TheSteinLine,” Stein reported. “The threat of him leaving Lakerland next summer is no threat at all now.”
