Myles Turner’s latest social media post might’ve been lighthearted, but it struck a chord with NBA fans—and not in a good way. After signing a massive four-year, $107 million deal with the Milwaukee Bucks, Turner posted on X, “I’ve reached that point in my life where driving around and seeing well-manicured grass just really does something to me… Like what is your secret? ”
What seemed like a harmless joke came off as oddly timed and even out of touch to some fans, especially with his departure from the Pacers still fresh. Jalen Brunson didn’t hold back on The Roommates Show, saying, “I thought the Myles Turner thing was… weird. He spent like a decade [in Indiana], and then boom—gone. He was on the trading block like every year for at least five, six years.”
Josh Hart backed him up with a bit more understanding but kept it real: “NBA players have such a small window to make the most money… Sometimes you go where you’re valued more.” He pointed out the tough business decisions players face, especially when loyalty doesn’t always pay.
Meanwhile, the Bucks couldn’t be happier. “We are thrilled that Myles chose our team and city!” said GM Jon Horst. Turner steps in for Brook Lopez, now with the Clippers, and adds defensive presence alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo.
With Turner reportedly replacing Damian Lillard—whom Milwaukee is waiving due to his Achilles injury—the Bucks have made a bold statement. Turner’s off-court comments may have raised eyebrows, but on the court, Milwaukee believes he’s a perfect fit.
This is a building story….
