Only eight days to go for the All-Star! But this is not the best of the news that A’ja Wilson would expect as an All-Star starter for team Caitlin Clark. I mean, why would she? She’s already injured and is not able to play games for Aces. But is there anything to worry about??
Not really, as Becky Hammon has recently confirmed that A’ja Wilson has a wrist sprain and “nothing’s broken.” However, there’s still no timeline for her return. It all happened during a tense second-quarter drive against the Liberty, when the LV superstar took a hard fall after being fouled by Leonie Fiebich.
And, trying to brace herself, Wilson landed awkwardly on her right wrist and immediately clutched it in pain. Her teammates formed a shield around her as she remained down, clearly shaken. Although she briefly stayed in the game — even sinking both free throws and grabbing a rebound- HC subbed her out before halftime.

And later, the 3X MVP was ruled out with a wrist injury and returned to the bench wearing a brace, raising alarms about her availability for the upcoming All-Star Game. And Aces have confirmed that Wilson will not play in Thursday’s matchup against the Washington Mystics due to the wrist injury, though they’ve listed her as day-to-day.
While the results of her MRI haven’t been made public, Wilson did try to lighten the mood with a post on Instagram: “Nothing wakes you up like the sound of an MRI machine lol!” But make no mistake – her absence is a big blow. Already sidelined once this season due to concussion protocol, she’s averaging a dominant 20.7 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.
