Michael Irvin Throws Jerry Jones’ Cowboys Under the Bus After Dak Prescott’s Bold Claim About Ending 30YO Drought

Ross from ‘Friends’ kept saying, “We were on a break!” But nobody was buying it. Similarly, most NFL fans are swaying away from Dak Prescott and Jerry Jones’s recurring promises of winning a trophy. This week, for instance, Troy Aikman exclaimed, “I thought we had more in us and I thought we would be back. Obviously, we weren’t. But not only were we not back, but here we are almost three decades later and no one has been back. I think I speak for the Cowboys faithful in saying that it’s been a long time, and this is the Dallas Cowboys.”

Aikman, who played with the team from 1989 to 2000, has now lost hope in the team’s success. The same goes with Michael Irvin’s perception, who took a jab at Jerry Jones’s America’s Team.

During an episode of Speak this week, Michael Irvin firmly expressed that Dak Prescott and Jerry Jones’s Cowboys are completely lost. Recalling Troy Aikman’s comments, Irvin said, “This has been a great franchise, right? And we’re eerie and scarily close to that point. And that’s why even I was yelling about it……And I think that’s exactly what Troy is talking about. No, I don’t see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Michael Irvin thinks Jerry Jones’s Cowboys remain far away from the endgame. Hence, he threw him under the bus, saying that he didn’t see a light at the end of the tunnel anymore. Forget about it. In fact, Irvin believes that Dak Prescott’s team “ain’t even found a tunnel….(They are) Lost in the forest, looking for the tunnel, and find a light on the way out. (But) I’m still patting the wall trying to find a tunnel.”

The last time they won the Super Bowl dates back to 1995. Some fans weren’t even born when that happened. Valued at more than $5 billion, the Dallas Cowboys enjoy recognition from all corners of the NFL world. Yet, Jerry Jones, some people might say, starting to lose his mojo.

Furthermore, he fears the team’s losing attitude is infecting future generations of players. That’s the reason he sees hiring Brian Schottenheimer as such a big deal. Apart from giving hopeless remarks, Irvin also highlighted he hopes the players take responsibility, rally together, and protect their coach from criticism by performing better.

But hope isn’t enough. Right now, he doesn’t see a clear way forward for the Cowboys. According to Irvin, Dak Prescott’s team is still wandering and searching for direction. Notably, this statement came after he expressed his want for Deion Sanders to coach the team. But since the Cowboys went with Schottenheimer, the sports commentator believes God’s blessing remains the only way for the Cowboys to get back on top.

So, it remains to be seen how well the Cowboys are coming up in the next season. Until then, the QB is sure about the win, irrespective of others’s lost hopes.

Dak Prescott is going to win a Super Bowl?

Yes, reiterating the point again. It has been 30 years since the Dallas Cowboys won their last Super Bowl in 1995. But the quarterback, who is coming up with a season-ending hamstring surgery, is pretty sure he will get one now. Great confidence! But let’s check the reality.

Dak Prescott has a 2-5 career playoff record. And guess what? He has never gone ahead of the divisional round in the NFL. But now he is returning healthy next season, with a comeback assertion: “I’m doing a lot more. I’m getting there. I’m really looking to amp it up here. I got all my confidence. We’ll be fine.” And what about the Super Bowl?

Well, he expressed, “I feel like we compete with the Eagles and beat them, for the most part, when we play them… It’s our turn, and it’s on us.” The Eagles finally solved the Kansas City Chiefs riddle and came on top. So, Prescott believe, it’s my time now!

Dak Prescott thinks he and his team can win a Super Bowl in 2026. But will they? Aaron Rodgers too promised when he was returning from his season-ending Achilles that he and his team will prove in the season by winning. But they didn’t. The same could be the case with Dallas. At least, many members of the Cowboys nation think so!
