In fact, teams introduced the Hack-a-Shaq technique to shut the big down. However, the Lakers legend appeared on top of the majority of players. One such moment happened in 1999 and is still remembered fondly. But his co-analyst Candace Parker did not the antics one bit.
During the TNT Tuesday’s show, the crew watched a new segment, ‘Put ‘Em On A Poster’. One such dunk of Shaquille O’Neal was against Chris Dudley. After watching the highlights, Parker was perplexed about how Shaq first hung on the net with his legs around the former Knicks star. “But why did you do this? This man has a family.” The 4x NBA champion explained his reasoning for feeling disrespected by the Knicks.
In a previous interview, Shaquille O’Neal spoke about this moment, and why this dunk was ferocious on another level. “You know why I did that? Because I found it disrespectful that they didn’t double me. It’s like if you look, I look back first, and I’m like, ‘Oh really?’” The Lakers legend felt disrespected, as the Knicks did not double him during the game. That’s when Parker interjected and sided with former Knicks star Dudley.
“That’s not his fault,” the 3x WNBA champion believed the coach decided to not double team Shaq, but Dudley had to pay the price. He was not the only one on the list. The Big Aristotle’s career total dunks amount to 2,626 but is behind his mortal enemy, Dwight Howard. However, being second is not his fault. The dunk became an official stat in 1996, after four seasons into the Lakers legend’s career. But do you know how many times opponents dunked on him?

Shaquille O’Neal confirmed that it wasn’t a breakaway dunk. “No, baseline dunk. I went up lazily, and he threw it down on me. … I always wanted to take pride in not getting dunked on.” So three times he has been dunked on and compare it with his 2,626 dunks. All three dunks occurred early in O’Neal’s career when he played for the Magic.
Coleman, who was the No. 1 pick in the 1990 NBA draft, dunked on O’Neal when he played for the Nets. Six-time NBA champion Jordan dunked on O’Neal during his legendary Bulls career. O’Neal then described how Perry, who played for the 76ers at the time.
