Injuries really couldn’t hit Dallas any harder if they tried. The Wings were already juggling a full plate of hurt/out on injury report. DiJonai Carrington, Luisa Geiselsöder, Ty Harris, Teaira McCowan, and Maddy Siegrist were all stuck on the injury list. And just when fans were taking a deep breath thinking, “Okay, at least we still have Paige Bueckers,” she was ruled out too. The absolute worst thing that could happen.
The No. 1 pick missed her fifth game of the season Saturday night with a right knee issue. But just because she wasn’t suited up didn’t mean she wasn’t bringing the heat. Paige pulled up to the arena in grey sweats and turned into the hype-woman from sidelines. She was chirping at refs, tossing out hand gestures, and making faces. And then came the funniest moment.
Dallas reporter Landon Thomas caught it all. Brittney Sykes had just 6 points in her return. Well, Paige wasn’t about to let that slide. She got up, full-on reenacted her “head flop” move, even walked up toward the court despite the refs asking her to sit. She did it with so much flair that her Wings teammates were losing it on the bench.

Well, they indeed had all the reason to smile as Wings picked up a 79-71 win.
