Immanuel Iheanacho, the five-star offensive lineman out of Georgetown Prep in Maryland who’s been igniting recruiting boards of the 2026 class. With 6-foot-7, 350 pounds, he isn’t just physically imposing, he is also the No. 2 overall recruit in the country. Every college football blue blood wants him. First, Immanuel had everyone speculating with his official visit calendar. Early on, Maryland, Oregon, Penn State, and Alabama appeared to be the top contenders, with LSU merely in the background. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, he changed plans—Maryland was no longer in the picture, and LSU was now scheduled for an official visit at the end of May.

The shift changed the momentum in the recruiting race, as LSU wasn’t even one of his original official visit sites. LSU, under the guidance of Brian Kelly, is making a strong but late push. But here’s the big news: Over the weekend, Immanuel loaded up his bags and made his way down to Baton Rouge for an official visit with LSU. Now, this was an unexpected move. Following the visit, in an appearance with On3, Immanuel delivered exactly what every coach wants to hear: “I can see myself there.” That’s not some flippant remark. That’s a clear sign that Tigers are now back in the recruiting race.

Immanuel Iheanacho spent the weekend at LSU on his official visit and the Tigers made a move for the five-star offensive tackle.

“I can see myself there,” Iheanacho said.
