Although she came for the trophy, she left with the best-dressed title—at least in her own eyes. The PPA Tour’s Tucson Open might not have ended favorably for Eugenie Bouchard in terms of results, but her on-court style was a talking point. She turned heads in her New Balance outfit, continuing with her fashionista tagline. But what about her pickleball partner’s fashion choices? Let’s just say that the WTA star made it a point that looking good on-court matters just as much as playing well!
In the PPA Tour Tucson, Bouchard faced a tough singles campaign against Chao Yi Wang, losing 9-11 and 3-11. While the scoreboard didn’t favor the Canadian, her spirit remained unshakable. “I may not have won the tournament, but at least I had the cutest outfit,” she wrote on her IG post reflecting on her on-court style. The Canadian WTA star wore a neon-green New Balance outfit and impressed her followers with her fashion choices.
Pairing with former ATP star Jack Sock, Bouchard fought hard in the mixed doubles and lost against Lindsey Newman and Ivan Jakovljevic. Although she couldn’t win, she didn’t miss a chance to poke fun at her partner’s wardrobe. “Jack Sock needs to work on his outfits…” Bouchard wrote.
She later shared PPA’s reel about their loss on her IG story. “Tough start to the day for former tennis stars @jack.sock & @geniebouchard… Big win for @ivanjakovljevic.pb & @lindseynewman27 in Tucson,” Bouchard shared it tagging Jack Sock with a funny jab: “PPA posting us losing,” adding two crying and two laughing emojis.

Exactly a month before, Bouchard and Jack Sock showed up for the Masters’ pickleball doubles event and lost to AJ Koller and Meghan Dizon. Before the match, the Canadian was asked how their friends would react to their partnership and the WTA star laughed, “Oh my god, these are hard-hitting questions. They would probably laugh at us.” The video was posted by Carvana PPA Tour’s IG page.
While it was her first partnership with Sock, the latter expected fun. “We’ve known each other for a long time. It started in tennis, now we’re out here in the 20x44s and yeah, we’re both enjoying pickleball. We’ve crossed paths on the tennis tour a few times and had some fun group dinners with a bunch of players. Now we’re out here looking forward to playing mixed together for the first time on the pickle court and yeah, should be a fun week,” Sock said.
Bouchard and Sock were eager to prove their potential at the Tucson Open. Embracing their new doubles dynamic, they wanted to not just win but reach something even bigger!
Eugenie Bouchard’s pickleball partner believed he would “do some damage”
Jack Sock showed incredible faith in Bouchard since the beginning of their pickleball partnership. “We’re going to do some damage and people are going to be very scared of us. I think I’ve been playing a little more than her, but it’s alright, we’re gonna get this done. We’re repping the tennis world,” Sock said. And, Bouchard added, “We practiced yesterday for like two hours, so that was our prep. We’re gonna go practice right now.”
Bouchard and Sock were also asked about their matching all-white outfit. And the duo had quite a nostalgic response. “We both miss Wimbledon a lot, so we just wanted to play together and wear the all-whites this week.” However, Bouchard made a playful remark as well, “He asked me, obviously.”
