Tom Brady Regrets Decisions at Indy Car 500 After Getting Booed at Racing Event

4 min read

It was a spectacle at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana, when 400k+ fans assembled to watch the IndyCar 500 race. Not only the crowd, but even the NFL legend Rob Gronkowski was on Cloud 9 as he pumped up the crowd and the DJ to enjoy the race while calling it the biggest party since 1969. However, everyone was in a wonderful surprise when the GOAT Tom Brady also showed up in a race driver costume. Boy, oh boy! He is super fit even at the age of 47. And looked every bit a race driver.

In a move that got the temperature heated up, he even practiced in a car with 7-times world champion Jimmie Johnson. Almost every boy in the world wants to soak in the adrenaline. And if you can make money off of it, it’s just cherry on the top. Even the GOAT couldn’t resist the thrills of speed.

Tom Brady posted a bunch of photos on Instagram with the caption, “ x 14” showing the 7-time Super Bowl winner with Johnson. However, one IG story was hilarious. He posted a photo of himself watching the practice and captioned it, “Watching practice and regretting my decisions…” Well, if you thought what more can a player want than winning the record-breaking 7 Super Bowls, here it is. Speed always attracts! Is he thinking of becoming a race driver now after retiring from the league? Probably not! He has a 10-year contract with the FOX sports network.

Although he is retired from the NFL, he is still present as a FOX Sports broadcaster. And his popularity always takes him places. Tom Brady was so smitten by the event that he promised to be back next year. And he also told Jimmie Johnson that he would be driving next time. Now, that would be really special. It might also help subside the feeling of regret.

However, wherever he goes, history follows him. Even the fans tried to lower his morale!

Indiana fans boo Tom Brady at Speedway

Well, the GOAT needs no introduction. But if his achievements are his crown, there are some forgettable incidents from the past too, which haunt him everywhere he goes. Let’s go back a decade. On January 18, 2015, the Patriots battled the Colts in the AFC Championship game and advanced to the Super Bowl with a 45-7 blowout victory. They eventually won the Super Bowl. But the following offseason caught him by surprise. Tom Brady was accused of intentionally deflating the balls. It became famous as Deflategate.

His legacy, achievements, and even integrity as a player were in danger. Although he served the 4-game ban, analyst Mike Florio revealed in 2022 that the NFL intentionally deleted the data that would have cleared the GOAT of any wrongdoing. In the minds of fans, the memories are still fresh. When he got back on the stage to greet the fans in Speedway, the fans booed him. Clearly, they were still angry about the decade-old incident. But he owned the moment by smiling and waving to the crowd.

Overall, Tom Brady broke the hearts of Colts fans many times in his career, finishing with a 16-4 win-loss record in his 22-year career. But even the GOAT never forgets any insult. He also got back at the fans in his IG caption, which read, “It was great to get in one more successful drive in front of a bunch of Colts fans .” Well, he has mastered the art of trolling after his retirement.

Except this, the event was a major success. Fans loved seeing their NFL legends in race costumes. It’s special!
