“I had COVID brain,” Pippen admitted on The Jason Lee Show. “I was stuck at home, hadn’t left in days, and he was there—on me like, ‘Let me see you!’” Larsa Pippen’s response to dating Malik Beasley, even if honest on her part, was quite absurd and somewhat defaming at the expense of Malik Beasley. But why be so defensive of a relationship that existed in the past?

Let’s not forget she faced some backlash with Marcus Jordan, too, for dating her husband’s teammate’s son. However, the explanation that Larsa had on The Jason Lee Show for the Beasley situation didn’t sit quite well with everyone. That rationale even snagged the attention of veteran rappers Cam’ron and Mase on their podcast called Come And Talk 2 Me.
Cam’ron blasted the reasoning as a cheap cop-out. “She was giving COVID brain. That’s what she was doing… Why you keep going around just scouting basketball players for years… To me, it’s more embarrassing as a mother. Your son is in the NBA… He was on the team with a player that you [were involved with]…” With that kind of bluntness, you know it hit a nerve.
Mase piled on, branding the scenario ‘embarrassing’—then posed a scathing hypothetical: what if it were a father hooking up with his daughter’s young teammate? Both rappers agreed that the man’s life would be a living hell. That perspective seemed to drive home just how uncomfortable people are with the way things unfolded—and why Larsa’s explanation didn’t help.

Mase had blasted Larsa Pippen for taking advantage of Marcus Jordan
It was on February 12 when PEOPLE broke the news that had everyone buzzing—Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan had officially called it quits after dating for a year. And let’s just say, not everyone kept quiet about it. Rapper Mase didn’t hold back once the news hit the internet.
Things got even more heated when fans noticed both Larsa and Marcus had not only unfollowed each other on Instagram but had also scrubbed their accounts clean of any shared photos. No official statement came out explaining the breakup, but Larsa didn’t exactly stay silent either. Instead, she seemed to let her Instagram do the talking.
In one of her now-expired Stories, she shared a cryptic message: “The man you choose to be your partner affects everything in your life. Your mental health, your peace of mind, your love inside you, your happiness, how you get through tragedies, your successes, how your children will be raised, and much more. Choose wisely.”

On the February 15 episode, Mase didn’t mince words: “You’re the adult… What are you talking about? Ain’t you Scotty’s ex-wife? Now you are mad with the Pippens & the Jordans… My opinion is you were taking advantage of this… Stop embarrassing your children.” By invoking Pippen’s role as Scotty Pippen Jr.’s mother and ex-wife of NBA royalty, Mase emphasized how her personal choices had public ripple effects. He drove home his point with a blunt reminder:
“Larsa, you gotta stop this. You’re not 21. You’re not Lori Harvey.”
Sitting beside him, Cam’ron turned the tables with a warning to young suitors: “Don’t be the next sucker.” Their combined barbs painted a fuller picture. Beyond the breakup’s gossip value, many see Pippen’s relationship with Jordan as a misstep in judgment—one that invited harsh public scrutiny and, in Mase’s view, risked collateral damage to the next Pippen generation.
