Mike Perry’s Dirty Boxing is slowly becoming a second chance for some fighters, it seems. Take Yoel Romero, for example. He had a desire to continue competing in combat sports after his UFC career, and DBX offered him a unique hybrid of boxing and Muay Thai to fulfil his goal. Now it seems like another fighter who was released from UFC is getting a second chance in Dirty Boxing.
Former UFC Heavyweight Jairzinho Rozenstruik, who was released from UFC recently, will headline Dirty Boxing 2 very soon! Following UFC 312, Dana White answered why he cut off Rozenstruik after his loss at UFC Saudi Arabia. Despite being 3-2 in his last fights, he was cut off, and the fighter revealed his frustration at his previous loss. He said that the reason for the lackluster performance was the ‘paint fumes’ in the locker room before the fight. ‘Bigi Boy’ wasn’t the only one to complain about the paint fumes that caused dizziness, because Mike Davis, too, complained about his breathing issues before his fight.
However, Rozenstruik was released nonetheless, but this did not mean he was going to retire from combat sports. Now there is the latest news through Dirty Boxing’s official Instagram handle, “Dirty Boxing is back in Miami on June 14th! We’ve got a stacked card for DBX2—headlined by a heavyweight brawl between Jairzinho Rozenstruik vs. Devon Schwan, and co-main event Alex Caceres vs. SaidYokub Kakhramonov.”
His first assignment since parting ways with UFC is on the cards now, and officials confirmed that Rozenstruik faces Devon Schwan in the main event of Dirty Boxing 2. The card will stream for free on the Dirty Boxing YouTube channel. ‘Bigi Boi’ competed 15 times inside the octagon and has a record of 15-6-0. Schwan has competed in Power Slap and BKFC, accumulating a 64-second knockout win at BKFC Kansas City.
This fight is definitely going to be thrilling, and BKFC star Mike Perry (the lead promoter) and Jon Jones, the co-owner, are vying to put on an electrifying show. What did Mike Perry have to say about the joining of Jones?
Mike Perry gave a 3-word message to Jon Jones
“I was hooked from the first show, and I believe this is going to be a powerhouse in combat sports. I’m proud to attach my name to it,” said Johnny Bones, announcing a new chapter in his career. While MMA fans are eager to see him fight in the heavyweight title unification bout, ‘Bones’ is making a mark by owning businesses following a similar path to former dual-weight champ Conor McGregor. He is the co-owner of BKFC, and Mike Perry, who is the owner, was excited about Jones joining the team and claimed on social media, “Business is booming.”
The promotion made its official debut in November in Miami in a private boxing event featuring former UFC title challenger Yoel Romero. As per PR Newswire, Jones said, “Dirty Boxing Championship isn’t just a promotion, it’s a cultural shift. We’re taking everything we’ve learned from decades of combat sports and creating something more authentic, more dynamic, and more relevant to the next generation. DBX 2 is where that shift becomes undeniable.“
He is invested in this business of being a promoter rather than preparing for his fight against Tom Aspinall. What do you think about the fight matchups of DBX2? Tell us in the comments below.
