Love you mom.” That’s Julian Edelman, pouring his heart out to his biggest supporter, his mother, Angela. She’s been there every step of the way, just like he was there chasing his NFL dream. Edelman has always called her the “backbone” of their family, and he means it.
After winning the Super Bowl in 2019 and earning MVP, he didn’t brag. He picked up the phone and called his mom. However, he didn’t give any long speeches. Instead, just a simple, “I love you” and a thank you. He said, “I appreciate her. I wanted to see my family. I wouldn’t be where I’m at without them, and sometimes you just got to say it to let them know.” Because in his eyes, she came first, before the glory, before the quarterback, before it all.
And now, he’s once again found the perfect moment to show her just how much she means to him. On Sunday, Julian Edelman shared a story on his official Instagram account. In this new update, he dropped his and momma’s old vintage photo from his college days at Kemt State. Along with this beautiful picture of the two, Edelman made sure to make her momma’s birthday very special. Hence, he wrote on the caption, “Happy Birthday Mom, Love ya!”
Born on May 18, Julian Edelman’s mom, Angela, is a Canadian with German roots from Belgium. But more than anything, she’s been his everything. The one who showed up to every practice, every game, every moment that mattered. That’s why Edelman never forgets to show her love, especially on Mother’s Day. It has now become a tradition for him.
On the other hand, Angela once shared that she was always there for her baby son. In an early interview in 2015, she revealed, “I was a stay-at-home mom. I was the room mother [at school], and I was the team mom for all the sports, for all the kids. I was just always there for them in that way. And, Jules’ fun side is me. His serious side, his work ethic, is his dad, and his little lighter side is more me. We had a lot of fun.”
So, it would not be incorrect to say that through the years, Julian Edelman’s success has her fingerprints all over it. Just like in the recent achievement.

Julian Edelman’s journey just came full circle, and man, it’s emotional. The guy who once got booed in camp for dropping punts is now heading into the Patriots Hall of Fame. Voted in by the fans, in his first year of eligibility, that says everything.
From a seventh-round QB out of Kent State to Tom Brady’s most trusted target, he built his legacy with grit, heart, and clutch plays when it mattered most. Remember that insane catch in the Falcons Super Bowl? It was pure magic! Every block, every route, every hit, he gave it all in that game.
Over the 11 seasons of his Patriots’ career, the WR had 620 catches for 6,822 yards and scored 41 touchdowns, along with 177 punt returns for 1,986 yards. In addition, he has been named Super Bowl MVP and even won 3 championships.
So, obviously, this isn’t just a Hall of Fame nod, it’s a thank you from every New England heart he lit up on Sundays.
