The Aces lost their three veteran guards this free agency. While that void can’t be filled so easily, now they are making moves to add veteran experience and, along the way, reigniting some old collegiate bonds. And it’s none other than their star A’ja Wilson and new signing Tiffany Mitchell, who did not play the 2024 season due to illness but is now ready to reunite with her college mate.
But you know, she was close to a deal with the Seattle Storm, a four-time champion, but chose to end up with Wilson & Co.
LV Aces recently added Dana Evans to their roster as a reserve, and Mitchell will likely pair up with her in that role, too. But her pairing with Wilson is something to take notice of.
Both players played together for the South Carolina Gamecocks for two years before Mitchell turned pro, and their influence on the Gamecocks program can be measured by the fact that both of their jerseys now hang in the rafters.
Can confirm Tiffany Mitchell is signing with the Aces, per sources. She was close to a deal with the Seattle Storm, but chose the Aces to play with fellow Gamecock A’ja Wilson. https://t.co/2jb414E7Jm

While her stats (8.8 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game) aren’t the most eye-popping, the 30-year-old has been a combo guard for her entire seven-year WNBA career.
She has both the lightning-quick first step and the passing chops required to live in the paint, collapse defenses, and create opportunities for her teammates to knock down open catch-and-shoot 3s, attack close-outs, or make the extra pass.
