In Week 10 of the 2024 season, the Cowboys watched CeeDee Lamb—arguably their best offensive weapon—get bottled up for a mere 21 yards by the same Eagles defense that would later hoist the Lombardi Trophy. In Week 17, it got worse: a 41-7 humiliation that left Dallas reeling into the offseason. Now, with the 2025 schedule freshly unveiled and a divisional rematch slated for opening night, two of the Cowboys’ brightest stars are firing back. But the internet? It isn’t having it.
It hurts when you don’t win the Super Bowl. It stings even more when the champion is your biggest divisional rival—and they swept you on national television. The Dallas Cowboys felt that burn last season when the Philadelphia Eagles handled them with ease. Now, the 2025 campaign begins exactly where the pain left off. Dallas opens its season against the reigning champs on Wednesday, Sept. 4 at 7:20 p.m. CT in Philadelphia, with a home rematch set for Nov. 23 at 3:25 p.m. CT in Week 12. And while fans are already bracing for another rough ride, the Cowboys’ stars aren’t shying away.
During America’s Stream: Countdown to Schedule Release on May 16, a viewer joked that Lamb would once again be “locked down” by Eagles rookie CB Quinyon Mitchell, dubbing his lockdown skills “Quinyonimo Bay.” That didn’t sit well with LB Micah Parsons.
“I’m sorry, that Quinyonimo Bay don’t last over here, man. That [expletive] dead,” Parsons snapped. Lamb was even more blunt: “Stop the cap. I ain’t never been locked down.”

But reality told a different story. According to PFF, Mitchell allowed just one catch for five yards when covering Lamb in Week 10 last season. That game saw Lamb limited to six total receptions for 21 yards—his second-lowest yardage mark of the year. To be fair, CeeDee Lamb hasn’t been invisible against Philly. He’s posted two 100+ yard games in nine career matchups with the Eagles.
Still, the Eagles have won three of the last four meetings, and when it mattered most, Dallas collapsed.
Fans troll CeeDee Lamb and Micah Parsons over Eagles comments
As expected, the backlash was swift. One fan took a jab at both players’ playoff absence: “Put it this way. One player spent the playoffs in Cancun, while the other won a ring ”. Another user doubled down: “They need some receipts ”. And then came the heavy blow aimed at Parsons: “Maybe Micah should refrain from talking s— until he actually accomplishes something. Mitchell already has a Super Bowl ring. Parsons? 4 playoff games, 3 tackles!”
To clarify, Parsons has recorded 8 tackles, 1 sack, and 3 passes defended across four playoff appearances—solid, but hardly game-changing for a player touted as a defensive centerpiece.

One fan didn’t hold back, calling Parsons a “fraud” and writing: “Clowns talking about the Eagles. Aren’t they the world champions? Haha, Micah you wanna be an Eagle so bad.” Another fan went for the jugular with a shot at Lamb: “You ain’t never been locked down? Cool. You ain’t never been past the Divisional either.” That line stings. Neither Lamb nor Parsons has reached an NFC Championship game in their careers. Last season ended in a Wild Card meltdown against the Rams.
The Super Bowl drought? It’s now 29 years and counting. The Cowboys can chirp on streams, roast fans, and push back against memes all offseason—but the only meaningful clapback comes in September. If Lamb and Parsons truly want to end the mocking, there’s just one route: show up in Philly and win.
Until then, as one fan said: “Talk is cheap. Rings aren’t.”
