Tom Aspinall Underlines ‘Issue’ Delaying Jon Jones Fight Announcement

2 min read

It was after UFC 295 that the whole MMA community was calling for the heavyweight title unification match between interim champion Tom Aspinall and undisputed champion Jon Jones. While the English star is ready for the potential matchup, ‘Bones’ is yet to give his green signal, which has delayed this fight longer than most people like. But what is the real issue with Jones? Well, Aspinall believes that it comes down to the payout since the undisputed champion was asking for “f— you money” for it.

As the interim champion revealed to have plans to talk with Dana White about the fight, he said “Jon Jones doesn’t want to take the risk at the moment. So, I actually have a meeting tonight about it. So, we’ll find out what happens tonight. Believe it or not,” recently on the ‘High Performance’ podcast“I can’t do anything [to make the fight happen]. I think it’s just down to money, I think, on his side. So, I will fight whenever, wherever he wants, but it’s down to money, I think.”
